From unusual anecdotes to key events in LGBTQIA+ history, L-Tour's passionate
guides will show you a rainbow-coloured version of cosmopolitan Brussels on
tours specially devised for Brussels Pride.
These guided tours (available in FR, NL & EN) explore the capital's historic
centre and take in the history of Brussels' LGBTQIA+ communities as you wander
the streets. The tours pass by iconic or now defunct establishments, are packed
with historical facts and give you a flavour of the personalities and
associations that have forever marked the struggles and advances in the rights
of lesbians, gays, bi, trans, queer, intersex and asexual people in our city,
our region, our country and even beyond.

EU Open Day Tours on democracy

On the 4th of May, ahead of Europe Day 2024, visitors are invited to take part in thematic guided tours on democracy, in English, French and Dutch.
Democracy is an ancient tradition and key value for Europe but never a given, rather an endeavour, a struggle, as these tours will show the visitors. The House of European History is contributing by highlighting the struggles and complexity of democracy from its origins until today.
The tour would cover topics in different parts of the museum galleries, including for example:
- Democracy and the challenges of today
- From Subjects to Citizens through revolutions
- Voting as a democratic duty
- The ‘rise and fall of democracy’
- Protest and participation

La Maison de l'histoire européenne célèbre la démocratie en mettant en lumière ses luttes et sa complexité, de ses origines à aujourd'hui.
- La visite couvrira des sujets dans différentes parties des galeries du musée, y compris par exemple :
- La démocratie et les défis d'aujourd'hui
- Passer de sujets à citoyens grâce aux révolutions
- Le vote en tant que devoir démocratique
- Remise en question de la démocratie
- Manifestations et participation

Democratie is een eeuwenoude traditie en een kernwaarde voor Europa, maar nooit vanzelfsprekend, eerder een streven, een strijd, zoals deze rondleidingen de bezoekers zullen laten zien.
