Van Morrison is an icon. The Northern Irishman was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993 and throughout his career was honoured with a Brit Award and six Grammys, among others. In 2015, he was knighted for his achievements for the music industry. Van Morrison is known for pushing the boundaries of popular music. This year marks 60 years since Van Morrison unleashed the rock classic ‘Gloria’ on the world with his Northern Irish band Them - as a B-side! Then again, his first solo single, the timeless ‘Brown EyedGirl’, dates back to 1967. And a year later, with Astral Weeks, he would make one of the best pop records of all time - one of the few albums ever given a 10/10 by the critical music bible Pitchfork.

Van Morrison est une icône. Cette année, cela fait 58 ans que Van Morrison a marqué le monde de la musique en lançant le grand classique du rock « Gloria » avec son groupe nord-irlandais Them. Cette piste était une face B, un comble ! Son premier single en solo, l'intemporel « Brown Eyed Girl », date de 1967. Et un an plus tard, avec « Astral Weeks », il réalisait l'un des meilleurs disques pop de tous les temps, l'un des rares albums à s’être vu attribuer un 10/10 par la bible de la critique musicale Pitchfork.
