The programme pays homage to the vibrant music scene of Brussels. Among the highlights, the premiere of Pilgrims. Sounds of Travel, a project conceived by Julien Libeer. He asked Fabian Fiorini to write an oratorio for the young gospel singer Anicet Adeyemi and the children’s choirs Equinox and Singing Molenbeek. The Supernova laureates treat us to beautiful chamber music, and the Belgian National Orchestra celebrates Arvo Pärt's 90th birthday with a trip through his symphonic repertoire. We also celebrate the spring equinox with Nowruz, a concert honouring the Persian New Year. Later in the evening, Aïda Gabriëls stages a sonic landscape of contemporary polyphony with the Flemish Radio Choir, Brussels singer Adja Fassa, and the audience itself.
The icing on the cake is the brand-new Sound of Brussels Orchestra: under the guidance of Fabrizio Cassol and Adèle Viret, eight musicians with diverse backgrounds explore the unique sound of the city. During Muziekberg, you will hear the result of this special experiment – a festive kick-off of a multi-year search for the unique sound of our capital.

La programmation rendra hommage au riche paysage musical bruxellois. En outre, il y aura la première de Pilgrims. Sounds of Travel, un projet conçu par Julien Libeer. Il a demandé à Fabian Fiorini d'écrire un oratorio pour la jeune chanteuse de gospel Anicet Adeyemi et les chœurs d'enfants Equinox et Singing Molenbeek. Het programma is een ode aan het rijke Brusselse muzieklandschap. Zo is er de creatie van Pilgrims. Sounds of Travel, een project uit de koker van Julien Libeer. Hij vroeg Fabian Fiorini om een oratorium te schrijven voor de jonge gospelzangeres Anicet Adeyemi en de kinderkoren Equinox en Singing Molenbeek. De Supernova-laureaten trakteren ons op de mooiste kamermuziek, en het Belgian National Orchestra viert de 90e verjaardag van Arvo Pärt met een trip door zijn symfonisch repertoire. We vieren de lente-equinox met Nowruz, een concert in het teken van het Perzische nieuwsjaarsfeest. En in de late avond ensceneert Aïda Gabriëls een klanklandschap rond hedendaagse polyfonie, samen met het Vlaams Radiokoor, de Brusselse zangeres Adja Fassa én het publiek.
Kers op de taart is het gloednieuwe ensemble Sound of Brussels Orchestra: onder begeleiding van Fabrizio Cassol en Adèle Viret gaan acht muzikanten met uiteenlopende achtergronden op zoek naar het unieke geluid van onze hoofdstad. Tijdens Muziekberg hoor je het resultaat van dit bijzondere experiment – een feestelijk startschot van een meerjarige zoektocht naar de unieke sound van onze hoofdstad.
