From 6 to 10 November, Bozar opens its doors to the world of Tizza Covi and Rainer Frimmel for a Close-up in the presence of the artists, featuring four films, an exclusive Masterclass and a carte blanche. Tizza Covi and Rainer Frimmel will be at Cinema RITCS and Bozar from 6 to 8 November to meet you.
In their work, which ranges from documentary to fiction, photography has a special place. Tizza Covi and Rainer Frimmel also regularly work with non-professional actors, who are invited to take part in a fictional story while playing themselves. Their latest directorial effort, Vera, won the Best Directors' Prize (2022) at the Venice Film Festival, consolidating their position as contemporary filmmakers who cannot be ignored. 
Born in Bolzano in 1971, Tizza Covi lived in Paris and Berlin before studying photography in Vienna. She then moved to Rome, where she thrives as a photographer. Rainer Frimmel was born in Vienna the same year, where he also studied photography. Sharing his passion with Tizza, they combined their talents in 2002 to found Vento Films, an independent production company. Since then, their collaboration has been crowned with success, with their films winning numerous awards at prestigious festivals such as the Berlinale, Locarno, Cannes (Directors' Fortnight) and Cinéma du Réel Paris.

Du 6 au 10 novembre, Bozar ouvre ses portes à l’univers de Tizza Covi et Rainer Frimmel pour un Close-up en présence des artistes mettant en avant quatre films, une Masterclass exclusive et une carte blanche. Tizza Covi et Rainer Frimmel seront au Cinéma RITCS et à Bozar du 6 au 8 novembre pour vous rencontrer.
Dans leur œuvre qui s’étend du documentaire à la fiction, la photographie a une place de choix. Aussi, Tizza Covi et Rainer Frimmel ont la particularité de tourner régulièrement avec des acteurs non professionnels à qui ils proposent d’entrer dans une histoire fictionnelle tout en jouant leur propre rôle. Leur dernière réalisation, Vera, a reçu le Prix des meilleurs réalisateurs (2022) à la Mostra de Venise, consolidant leur position en tant que cinéastes contemporains incontournables.

Van 6 tot 10 november laat Bozar je kennismaken met de wereld van Tizza Covi en Rainer Frimmel voor een Close-up in aanwezigheid van de kunstenaars, met vier films, een exclusieve masterclass en een carte blanche. Tizza Covi en Rainer Frimmel zijn van 6 tot 8 november in Cinema RITCS en Bozar om je te ontmoeten.
In hun werk, dat varieert van documentaires tot fictie, neemt fotografie een speciale plaats in. Wat het werk van Tizza Covi en Rainer Frimmel ook zo bijzonder maakt, is dat ze regelmatig samenwerken met amateuracteurs die ze laten meespelen in een fictief verhaal waarin ze toch zichzelf kunnen blijven. Hun recentste film, Vera, won de prijs voor beste regisseur (2022) op het Mostra de Venise, waarmee ze hun reputatie als talentvolle hedendaagse filmmakers nog meer kracht bijzetten. 
Tizza Covi wordt in 1971 geboren in Bolzano. Ze woont in Parijs en Berlijn waarna ze fotografie gaat studeren in Wenen. Daarna verhuist ze naar Rome, waar ze naam maakt als fotografe. Rainer Frimmel wordt in hetzelfde jaar geboren in Wenen, waar hij ook fotografie studeert. Hij deelt zijn passie met Tizza en ze beslissen om hun creatieve handen in elkaar te slaan en richten in 2002 Vento Films op, een onafhankelijk productiebedrijf. Een samenwerking die sindsdien op veel succes kan rekenen, want hun films hebben talloze prijzen gewonnen op prestigieuze festivals zoals de Berlinale, Locarno, Cannes (Directors' Fortnight) en Cinéma du Réel Paris.
