Description
DOLLY BING BING is the alter ego of Belgium-Brazil based Elisabeth Van Dam (Belgium, 1986) and is known as Belgium’s only ‘glamourous alien popstar’. DOLLY calls herself a ‘cybersexual fantasy’, a ‘futurist Disney punker’, a soft-core performance artist and a ‘post-apocalyptic Gesamtkunstwerk’. Apart from her flamboyant appearance in the international popscene she is also a doctor of philosophy and a dedicated visual artist, with a main focus on sculpture and its ancient craft. DOLLY looks at herself and her life as a work of art and shapes her own body as a living sculpture. Her artworks are therefore deeply connected to her experience
of that body. They are handmade, starting from clay, and are very raw, while their glossy finish gives them something of alien bodies. The unique sculptures are characterized by their notions of glamour, high tech and futurism.
DOLLY mixes ancient imagination rooted in the history of art, philosophy and literature with dark and cartoonesk imagery inspired by the subversive depths of the internet. The common thread running through all facets of DOLLY’s life is the play with sexuality, gender, body culture and feminism.
Part of her practice is the collaboration with other makers and artists. For her show at the gallery she has invited Wannes Cre? to present a series of portraits they made together.
DOLLY appeared as herself in the highly praised and by Het Theaterfestival nominated opera production ‘A Revue’ by Benjamin Abel Meirhaeghe and Opera Vlaanderen. As a popartist she released her debut EP Angelbyte and three internationally acclaimed singles with music video: ‘Eat Me’, ‘Kusje’ and ‘Readiness’.

From Saturday 13 April to Sunday 1 September 2024, the Bruges Triennial brings
Spaces of Possibility to the streets of the historic city centre and Zeebrugge.
The contemporary art and architectural installations are on view for almost five
whole months. For our fourth edition, we’ve invited twelve international artists
and architects to hold a mirror up to the dormant potential of the ever-changing
city. How can a UNESCO World Heritage City, where preservation is central, deal
with concepts such as change and sustainability? And how can contemporary art
and architecture create a new framework for these issues? Through their artistic
interventions, the artists and architects challenge existing sites, connect
urban areas and search for hidden beauty.

The first joint exhibition of Hungarian artist, Árpád Forgó and Brussels-based
ceramic artist Abel Jallais takes place at the Front Gallery of Liszt Institute,
Brussels as an official off program of Art Brussels international contemporary
art fair.
At the exhibition, through unusual constellations, Forgó’s delicate shaped
canvas compositions get in dialogue with the monochrome ceramic objects of Abel
Jallais. Despite of working with different medium, their approach and processes
share several similarities. They create non-representational objects, which do
not intend to generate direct associations; the content of the work is its
colour, shape, texture, size and scale.
Both artists developed his own basic forms, from which they build the artworks:
Jallais is using additions, cut-outs and repetition in his “Bonbonne” series;
Forgó is applying different reflection methods, as well as shifting. They create
simple and visually controllable pieces that need to be observed and discovered.
Árpád Forgó works with basic geometric forms and through isometric
transformations; he builds shaped canvas compositions, visualising structures,
shapes, measurements and rhythm, as well as planar and spatial relationships. He
developed shaped canvas modules in order to build block-like or hollow,
symmetrical or asymmetrical compositions. In the recent years, he experiments
intensively with different compound painting processes in order to challenge the
viewer’s perception not only by the structure but also by the material.
Abel Jallais has an attraction to facing unknown objects; therefore, he peals
off the functional territories of the archaic objects and transforms them into a
free form of interpretation. They become a fictional territory again to explore,
offering the opportunity to the passive user to open a new dialogue with the
form. Sighing with the eyes, turning around, manipulating to return to a
primitive form of primitive apprehension. His practice moves in this interstice.
The fictional sense becomes the functional sense.
Both artists work with traditional materials, aiming for industrial perfection,
still keeping the craftsmanship of the process.
Árpád Forgó is a Budapest-based artist. After graduating, he soon started to
focus on geometric abstraction and made paintings with tactile feature. He has
always been interested in the periphery of painting and sculpture. Since 2015,
he creates shaped canvas works and modular compositions. He has exhibited
widely, including solos shows at Anya Tish Gallery in Houston; Schlieder
Contemporary in Frankfurt; Viltin Gallery, Budapest and Rómer Flóris Museum of
Art and History in Győr, Hungary. He has participated in group shows at Ludwig
Museum and Vasarely Museum in Budapest and the Museum Ritter in Waldenbuch,
Germany. Artist residency programs play an important role in the artist’s
career, he was invited to Norway, Australia, Spain, and several times to the
United States. For 2019-2020, he was awarded The Pollock-Krasner Foundation
grant.
Abel Jallais is a French-born ceramic artist living and working in Brussels.
After his studies at the College of Fine Arts in Angers, where he concentrated
on sculpture and drawing, he spent a year in Colombia, where he did an
internship at Campo de Gutierrez artist residency centre, where ceramics played
a major role. He had already been working with clay since his teenage years, and
this experience strengthened his desire to explore this material further. On his
return to Europe, he joined the master’s programme in ceramics at La Cambre
National College of Visual Arts in Brussels, graduating in 2018. Since then, he
has divided his time between his art practice at Espace Triphasé art studio and
his work as a teacher at the Brussels Art Academy and as a teaching assistant at
the ceramics department at La Cambre. His works have been exhibited at numerous
galleries and art spaces in Brussels, including Galerie Cohérent, Musée du
Cinquantenaire, Puls Ceramics Gallery and Espace La Vallée, as well as at
international ceramics platforms in Belgium, The Netherlands and France.

vélo commence et se termine à Trainworld. Profitez-en pour visiter ce musée
ferroviaire emblématique : en tant que participant intéressé au tour à vélo,

fait construire sa propre installation artistique participative dans la salle
des pas perdus de Trainworld, à laquelle vous pouvez contribuer.

In 1835 reed er voor het eerst in de geschiedenis reed een trein op het Europese
continent tussen Brussel en Mechelen. Sindsdien wist België zich te profileren
als pionier op het Europese internationale treinnetwerk en daar zien we vandaag
nog steeds de sporen. Toch staat het Europese treinverkeer vandaag onder zware
druk vanuit verschillende hoeken. Net na de ConnectingEuropeDays van de Europese
Commissie en een maand voor de Transportraad van het Belgische voorzitterschap,
laten we zien dat we nog steeds trots zijn op ons spoorwegland.
We verkennen het Brusselse spoorwegerfgoed per fiets. Deze fietstocht begint en
eindigt aan Trainworld. Maak van de gelegenheid gebruik om dit iconische
spoorwegmuseum te bezoeken: als geïnteresseerde deelnemer van de fietstocht
genieten jullie samen van groepstarief. Back on Track Belgium vzw heeft
bovendien een eigen participatieve kunstinstallatie laten bouwen in de oude
stationshal van Trainworld, waar ook jij je steentje aan kan bijdragen.
Fiets mee op zondag 5 mei om 10u45 op onze ontdekkingstocht van het Brusselse

Many migration movements demand a lot from migrants. Their lives and health are
threatened, their right to self-determination is challenged, and their
individual identities become objects of other people’s prejudices and actions.
All migration processes, even the painful ones, lead to new cultural diversity,
which can be seen as a positive force in today’s societies. Shared experiences
empower the citizens of Europe and help create our joint European identity.
Featured are some very specific situations at European level:
1. The long-term consequences of the German occupation of Norway during World
War II.
2. Prejudices against many Greenlandians after the migration from Greenland to
Denmark since 1945.
3. Forced migration of Sámi from the North to the South of Sweden.
4. Population exchange in former German Pomerania after 1945, exemplified by the
Polish town Slupsk .
5. The long-term consequences of the Holocaust for Lithuanian women.
6. Migration to Slovenia after World War II and the impact of the country’s
independence in 1991 on the migrants.
7. The complex political history of the Istrian peninsula and its multi-ethnic
population related to 200 000 emigrants after World War II.

Terwijl Gaza een totale tragedie doormaakt, werpt deze tentoonstelling een blik
op een decennium van tumult in het Midden-Oosten. Vanaf de revoluties in Tunesië
en Egypte tot de conflicten in Syrië, Irak, Jemen en momenteel in Gaza.
De verschillende hoofdstukken van deze recente geschiedenis van het
Midden-Oosten worden verteld aan de hand van de verhalen van oorlogsslachtoffers
die worden behandeld in het MSF-ziekenhuis in Amman, een unieke locatie op het
kruispunt van deze conflicten.
Na een verhelderend kijk op de actualiteit gaan we met elkaar in gesprek en is
er tijd voor een creatieve borduurworkshop waar je meewerkt aan een solidaire
boodschap.
Comment être artiste au milieu de ces ruines qui s’amoncellent, et qui restent,
insistantes ? Hantés que nous sommes par le réchauffement climatique, par les
guerres et autres épidémies, et par la résurgence d’idéologies mortifères, nous
manquons de réponses. Quelques artistes plasticiens essayent ici de témoigner,
de faire voir, de faire sens, malgré tout, face à ces indécences.

Piëdestal vzw / asbl is proud to present its second exhibition "Welcome to the
Age of Chaos, Welcome to Entrotopia!" which will take place between 3 and 26 May
2024 at LaVallée, in the heart of Brussels and is again curated by artist Seppe
De Roo (°1994).
This new project builds on the success of our first exhibition, 'Sit Back, Relax
& Enjoy the Apocalypse' (2022). This expo attracted more than 3,000 visitors in
16 days and exhibited 14 young (inter)national artists.
The 6 selected young emerging artists for 'Welcome to the Age of Chaos, Welcome
to Entrotopia!' are Anna Zanichelli (Brussels), Seppe De Roo (Brussels), Arieh
Frosh (London), Fabien Zocco (Lille), June Ha (aka Öspiel, Brussels) & Maria E.
André (Brussels).
The hallmark of our era lies in the technological revolution, exponentially
hastening the pace at which we engage with the world. To the human mind, it may
seem like a rising tide of entropy, an intricate chaos shaping our reality.
However, a crucial inquiry arises: will this acceleration eventually come to a
breaking point where it becomes too overwhelming? What sort of world can we
imagine for both current and future generations of humanity?
Entrotopia is neither a dystopian dream nor an utopian nightmare. Entrotopia
will depict a garden of textures of the 21st century, both through visual art
and in sound. Together these artworks shape a meditative space as an experience.
The emphasis is on the confluence of the artisanal with digital production
methods such as 3D printing and A.I..
You will find creeping robotic creatures in the dark, video art generated with
A.I., 3D-printed sculptures and classical and artisanal media such as painting
and sculpture created with or without new technology such as 3D rendering and
neural networks. A fusion of man and machine, physical and digital, science and
new-old-born spirituality.
This expo is a multidisciplinary arts platform with several complementary events
and audiences:
The opening night on the 3rd May (Vernissage) and Pride-evening (17th of May)
will feature live music and concerts with well-known names such as Öspiel,
Mélissa Juice & Stella K. On Saturday nights, LaVallée is in charge of
programming events.
On Sunday 5th of May (11-19h), the first performance platform will take place at
the exhibition with performances by Carla Parcianello, Rob Hayden, Manse Kim
/Jenn Hutt / Clelia
Patrono (live electronics/ dance) & Louise Roam (concert)
On Sunday 26th of May (11-19h), the second performance afternoon will take place
at the exhibition and focus on young families with a workshop for kids and
performances by Giulia Piana, Chiara Monteverde, Elise Ludinard, llaria

(concert)
On the 4 Mondays and Wednesdays during the expo, a cultural media project aimed
at connecting local residents and refugees will be organised. This will include
a free guided tour and free creative workshops with painting and collage.
A voluntary contribution is requested at the entrance of the exhibition to
support organising this exhibiton. There is no voluntary contribution asked to
children and young people up to 15 years old and participants in the cultural
mediation projects.

the Age of Chaos, Welcome to Entrotopia !" qui aura lieu du 3 au 26 mai 2024 à
LaVallée, au cœur de Bruxelles, et dont le commissaire est à nouveau l'artiste
Seppe De Roo (°1994).
Ce nouveau projet s'appuie sur le succès de notre première exposition, "Sit
Back, Relax & Enjoy the Apocalypse" (2022). Cette exposition a attiré plus de 3
000 visiteurs en 16 jours et a exposé 14 jeunes artistes (inter)nationaux.
Les six jeunes artistes émergents sélectionnés pour "Welcome to the Age of
Chaos, Welcome to Entrotopia" sont Anna Zanichelli (Bruxelles), Seppe De Roo
(Bruxelles), Arieh Frosh (Londres), Fabien Zocco (Lille), June Ha (aka Öspiel,
Bruxelles) et Maria E. André (Bruxelles).
Notre époque est marquée par la révolution technologique, qui accélère de
manière exponentielle le rythme auquel nous nous engageons dans le monde. Pour
l'esprit humain, cela peut ressembler à une marée montante d'entropie, un chaos
complexe qui façonne notre réalité. Toutefois, une question cruciale se pose :
cette accélération finira-t-elle par atteindre un point de rupture où elle
deviendra trop écrasante ? Quel genre de monde pouvons-nous imaginer pour les
générations actuelles et futures de l'humanité ?
Entrotopia n'est ni un rêve dystopique ni un cauchemar utopique. Entrotopia
dépeindra un jardin de textures du 21e siècle, à la fois par l'art visuel et par
le son. Ensemble, ces œuvres d'art façonnent un espace méditatif en tant
qu'expérience. L'accent est mis sur la confluence de l'artisanat et des méthodes
de production numériques telles que l'impression 3D et l'intelligence
artificielle.
Vous trouverez des créatures robotiques rampantes dans l'obscurité, de l'art
vidéo généré par l'I.A., des sculptures imprimées en 3D et des médias classiques
et artisanaux tels que la peinture et la sculpture, créés avec ou sans nouvelles
technologies telles que le rendu 3D et les réseaux neuronaux. Une fusion de
l'homme et de la machine, du physique et du numérique, de la science et de la
spiritualité naissante.
Cette exposition est une plateforme artistique multidisciplinaire avec plusieurs
événements et publics complémentaires :
La soirée d'ouverture du 3 mai (Vernissage) et la soirée des Fiertés (17 mai)
proposeront des musique live et des concerts des noms connus comme Öspiel,

Chaos, Welcome to Entrotopia!' zijn Anna Zanichelli (Brussel), Seppe De Roo

Brussel) & Maria E. André (Brussel).
Het kenmerk van ons tijdperk is de technologische revolutie, die het tempo
waarin we ons met de wereld verbinden exponentieel versnelt. Voor de menselijke
geest kan het lijken op een toenemende stroom van entropie, een complexe chaos
die onze werkelijkheid vormgeeft. Er rijst echter een cruciale vraag: zal deze
versnelling uiteindelijk een breekpunt bereiken waarop ze te overweldigend
wordt? Wat voor wereld kunnen we ons voorstellen voor zowel de huidige als de
toekomstige generaties van de mensheid?
Entrotopia is noch een dystopische droom noch een utopische nachtmerrie.
Entrotopia verbeeldt een tuin van texturen van de 21e eeuw, zowel door middel
van beeldende kunst als in geluid. Samen vormen deze kunstwerken een meditatieve
ruimte als ervaring. De nadruk ligt op de samenvloeiing van het ambachtelijke
met digitale productiemethoden zoals 3D-printen en A.I..
Je vindt er in het donker kruipende robotwezens, videokunst gegenereerd met
A.I., 3D-geprinte sculpturen en klassieke en ambachtelijke media zoals schilder-
en beeldhouwkunst, al dan niet gemaakt met nieuwe technologie zoals 3D-rendering
en neurale netwerken. Een samensmelting van mens en machine, fysiek en digitaal,
wetenschap en herboren spiritualiteit.
Deze expo is een multidisciplinair kunstenplatform met verschillende elkaar
aanvullende evenementen en publieksgroepen:
Op de openingsavond op 3 mei (Vernissage) en Pride-avond (17 mei) is er muziek
en optredens van bekende namen als Öspiel, Mélissa Juice & Stella K. Op
zaterdagavond zorgt LaVallée voor de programmatie van evenementen.
Op zondag 5 mei (11-19u) vindt het eerste performance platform plaats op de
tentoonstelling met optredens van Carla Parcianello, Rob Hayden, Manse Kim /Jenn
Hutt / Clelia Patrono (live elektronica/dans) & Louise Roam (concert)
Op zondag 26 mei (11-19u) vindt de tweede voorstellingsmiddag plaats bij de
tentoonstelling en richt zich op jonge gezinnen met een workshop voor kinderen
en optredens van Giulia Piana, Chiara Monteverde, Elise Ludinard, llaria
Orlandini / Andrés Navarro (dans / muziek), IRP Luigi -Bisogno / Florian Vuille
(concert)
Op de 4 maandagen en woensdagen tijdens de expo wordt er een cultureel
mediaproject georganiseerd om buurtbewoners en vluchtelingen met elkaar in
contact te brengen. Dit omvat een gratis rondleiding en gratis creatieve
workshops met schilderen en collage.
Er wordt een vrije bijdrage gevraagd bij de ingang van de tentoonstelling om de
organisatie van deze tentoonstelling te ondersteunen. Aan kinderen en jongeren
tot 15 jaar en deelnemers aan de culturele mediaprojecten wordt geen vrije
bijdragen gevraagd.

donderdag, vrijdag, zaterdag, zondag van 13 -19u (vrijdag 17 mei 13-21u) - vrije
bijdage bij inkom

Aurélie Salavert est née à Avignon. Elle vit et travaille à Bruxelles. L’artiste
transmet ses pensées, ses sentiments et ses souvenirs dans des images qui
semblent enfouies dans notre propre subconscient. Le fil conducteur de sa
pratique est le dessin, qui se réinvente continuellement grâce à l’utilisation
de techniques et de styles différents, permettant l’émergence d’une abstraction
figurative. La vaste production de dessins intimes au crayon d’Aurélie Salavert,
avec leurs doux lavis d’aquarelle ou leurs plats de gouache, nous parlent avec
une clarté enfantine, mais leur signification reste ouverte.
Lasse Wandschneider est né en 1987 à Lübeck, en Allemagne. Il a fait des études
en illustration et BD à Breda, Berlin, Prague et Bruxelles. Désormais, il vit et
travaille entre Bruxelles et Berlin. Dans son art, il s’intéresse aux équilibres
entre abstraction et narration, improvisation et réflexion, page et espace.
