This was a Total Sell Out at the Edinburgh Fringe. Emmanuel presents a whistle stop tour through all of his jobs that have led him to become one of the hottest stand-up comics on the circuit in brand new show, Emmanuel Sonubi: Curriculum Vitae. This brand-new show takes us through a hilarious and heartfelt story that explores all the jobs that Emmanuel has had before becoming a comedian and how those experiences helped shape his comedic voice. Recently seen on QI, Alan Davies As Yet Untitled, Apprentice 'You're Fired’ and headlined Live at the Apollo. Both Emmanuel’s 2022 and 2023 shows Emancipated and Curriculum Viate sold out and was a Fringe smash-hit, and this is a show not to miss. The show takes the audience on a hilarious and sometimes poignant journey through a variety of jobs and industries many of which, he was wildly unqualified to do. From working in IT to the doors of London's nightlife, all this while building up an impressive list of Musical Theatre credit. Emmanuel said today, “I am looking forward to getting out to Rotterdam, I promise you’re going to love the show as much as I do performing it. Edinburgh was an absolute blast and I’m humbled to have been nominated twice in a row for the biggest prize in comedy and I cannot wait to share this show with you.” Very special guest : Richard Ruben Richard Ruben is one of the best known franch speaking comedians in Belgium. He's sold out venues such as Forest National, Cirque Royal ,and many more. D’un côté, il y a les archives télévisées conservées par la Sonuma ; de l’autre, il y a Laurence Bibot qui s’en amuse dans des capsules parodiant les archétypes féminins : shampouineuse, directrice d’école, nymphette, ménagère de plus de 50 ans, femme dépressive ou exaltée, mais aussi des personnages connus, Barbara, Juliette Gréco, Sœur Sourire ou encore Amélie Nothomb. Le résultat est drôle, absurde et mélancolique. Parce que Laurence pose un regard sur une époque : des langages, des coiffures, des folklores ; mais aussi parce qu’elle éclaire la place de la femme dans les médias et la manière dont nos traditions et notre société ont évolué depuis l’avènement de la télévision. Ce ne sera pas un one-woman-show, ce ne sera pas un documentaire ; ce sera un spectacle-playback, une forme en chair et en son à partager avec le public, en toute confidentialité.

Abi’s performing career spans over a decade. From comedian to singer, actress to presenter; be it a comedy club, radio, live theatre, TV or on the big screen, she has consistently strived to entertain and make an audience feel at ease. Abi trained at the Guildford School of Acting at 18 years old and graduated with a degree in musical theatre. In her early twenties, Abi appeared in many off West-End productions and finally made her West End Debut in 2016 in a production which also took her on a Number 1 tour of the UK, to Hong Kong and to Singapore. Her next venture was where Abi’s passion for comedy writing and performing began - ‘Newsrevue’ – the world’s longest running comedy shows which has an alumnus of the likes of Sarah Pasco, Alistair McGowan and Bill Bailey. Many of her songs and parodies have been featured in the show over the years and Newsrevue – EdFringe, a show that she was member of in 2017 performing at The Pleasance Beyond. Abi was introduced fully to the stand up comedy world in 2018 and alongside her trusted ukulele for moral support, she hasn’t looked back. She is a regular on the comedy circuit both in London and regionally and has shared the stage with the likes of Stephen K Amon, Romesh Ranganathan and Seann Walsh to name a few. Abi has appeared on BBC1, ITV2 and SKY 1, where she played Cassandra Laggatt-Brown in Agatha Raisin & The Deadly Dance – appearing alongside Ashley Jensen, Matt Horne and Adam Garcia. You can still view this on catch up TV! _______________________ Lateef Lovejoy Lateef is an an extremely gifted entertainer, who made his show business debut as a witty 12 year old on Lateef is an an extremely gifted entertainer, who made his show business debut as a witty 12 year old on ITV’s famous morning gameshow “Mousetrap”. After that experience on the big screen he has never looked back. Not many performers can boast of having exceptional skills in all the main areas of the performing arts, lateef has these multi-faceted skills in abundance! Lateef also has tremendous comedic talent and is one of the most unique and distinctive acts on the comedy circuit, and vastly gaining the reputation of becoming a force to to reckoned with, both on the Black, Mainstream, and International comedy circuits. Kom vrijdagavond na het werk genieten van een lekkere cocktail in de tuin van Op-Weule! Daarna maken we onze lachspieren helemaal los tijdens de comedyshow Je suis Pippi’ van Veerle Malschaert. De avondshow start om 20u. Veerle Malschaert volgt, net als Pippi Langkous, haar eigen parcours en laat zich als artiest niet in een vakje duwen of aan banden leggen door labels. Ze ontwikkelde een uniek genre dat je nog het best kan omschrijven als openhartige, rake en troostende comedy, een uniek genre waar Veerle Malschaert als comédienne ondertussen gerust haar patent op mag nemen. Een voorstelling over ongedimd uzelf mogen zijn, vastzitten en loslaten, over ’t huis en houden, over aandacht geven en krijgen, over aan de haak geslaan worden, maar niet aan de leiband willen, over bangboosbibberland en de paniek laten varen, over pippi en kakka en over kiezen voor het leven. Richard Strauss’s Vier letzte Lieder and Benjamin Britten’s Cabaret Songs – posthumous gems by two of the greatest song composers if the twentieth century – sing, each in their own way, about the big questions of life.   In 1948, when the rubble of the world conflagration was still smouldering, Strauss set to music three poems by Hermann Hesse and one by Joseph von Eichendorff for his swan song. These are lieder that, with their dreamy lyricism, find comfort in the irrevocable cyclicity of nature and reassure us: what if death brings peace?   The melancholy nature of Strauss’s late romanticism is at odds with the wit and charm of Benjamin Britten’s pre-war Cabaret Songs. Based on poems by his good friend W.H. Auden, ‘Tell me the Truth About Love’, ‘Funeral Blues’, ‘Johnny’ and ‘Calypso’ reveal, with their spirited, jazzy undertones, a very different facet of the composer whose opera The Turn of the Screw we are also performing this season.  After unforgettable appearances in Les Huguenots and Bastarda, among others, soprano Lenneke Ruiten will now sing for the first time a recital on our stage. Accompanied at the piano by Thom Janssen, she will present a richly filled evening full of contrasts that will immerse you completely in the poetry of song. ********** Français ********** C’est dans la mort qu’on trouve la plénitude ; et c’est peut-être chez son voisin qu’on trouvera la vérité de l’amour. Dans ces lieder au lyrisme plein de rêverie, l’irrévocable cyclicité de la nature est source de réconfort et d’apaisement : et si la mort était la promesse du repos ?     Le post-romantisme mélancolique de Strauss contraste fortement avec le wit and charm des Cabaret Songs de Benjamin Britten, composées avant la guerre. « Tell me the Truth About Love », « Funeral Blues », « Johnny » et « Calypso », toutes écrites sur des poèmes de son proche ami W.H. Auden, offrent, par l’entremise de leurs accents humoristiques et jazzy, une facette du compositeur bien différente de celle que révèle son opéra The Turn of the Screw, que nous présentons également cette saison.  Ce sera le premier récital donné sur la scène de la Monnaie par la soprano Lenneke Ruiten, qu’on a entendue dans des prises de rôles inoubliables pour Les Huguenots, Bastarda et bien d’autres.
