In addition to performing as a solo artist in a more delicate and intimate setting, accordionist Hartwin Dhoore (Siger, Viorel) loves the magic that comes from playing with other musicians. Pavel Souvandjiev (Hartwin’s cousin) grew up in a musical family and has been playing the violin since childhood. After training in classical music, he discovered, at the age of fourteen, the folk scene of which he became one of the essentials. Best known as one of the founders of the famous “Aerokorda” trio, his excellence on the violin elevates the trio’s performance to a new level. Flavia Escartin (cello) grew up on a Catalan farm surrounded by vineyards and magnificent landscapes. The influence of this environment gives her style an organic and intrepid side. But it also has Western roots! With her Belgian mother, she regularly visited her grandparents in Ghent and is currently studying in Amsterdam. Flavia often performs with her sister Laia under the name “Escarteen Sisters” and also collaborates with musicians from the jazz and world music scene. The groovy style and fluid gestures make the trio’s repertoire swing with madness.

It moves, it grooves and it swings. The new album “Li pedi” (Feet) by Nisia in trio format is dedicated to the people of dance, that part of humanity who cannot stay still when music tickles their feet, ears and heart. Whether it’s the catchy pulse of a Sicilian tarantella, the tender sway of a mazurka, or the irresistible swirl of a circus circle, the spirit of the album is that of finding the common denominator in this incredible and rich variety music to dance to. Crossing “piedi nudi” from Sicily to Belgium, the trio evokes the whole range of sensations, emotions, perfumes and memories that carry us throughout this dancing, and sometimes stumbling journey, that is life. New compositions and arrangements of traditional pieces intertwine to explore with an original and personal look link between our musical roots to our contemporary sensitivity.

Nisia Trio est dédié au peuple de la danse. Leur album ‘piedi nudi’ est un hommage à cette partie de l’humanité qui ne peut pas rester en place quand une musique lui titille les oreilles. Que ce soit la pulsation entraînante d’une tarentelle sicilienne ou le tendre balancement d’une mazurka, l’esprit de l’album est celui de trouver le dénominateur commun dans cette variété incroyable et riche des musiques à danser. En plus de se produire en solo, l’accordéoniste Hartwin Dhoore (Siger, Viorel) aime la magie de jouer avec d’autres musiciens. Pavel Souvandjiev (cousin d’Hartwin) a grandi dans une famille de musiciens. Après une formation classique, il découvre la scène folk. Surtout connu comme l’un des fondateurs du célèbre trio « Aerokorda », son excellence au violon élève la prestation du trio à un niveau supérieur. Flavia Escartin (violoncelle) a grandi dans une ferme catalane au milieu de magnifiques paysages. L’influence de cet environnement donne à son style un côté organique et intrépide. Mais elle a aussi des origines belges et se produit souvent avec sa sœur Laia sous le nom de « Escarteen Sisters ». Elle collabore également avec des musiciens de la scène jazz et de musique du monde. Son style groovy et ses gestes fluides font swinguer le répertoire du trio avec folie.

Of het nu om de stuwende hartslag van een Siciliaanse tarantella gaat, het tedere wiegen van een mazurka, of het onweerstaanbare ronddraaien van een tovercirkel, het album gaat op zoek naar wat dat bijzonder rijke dansrepertoire gemeen heeft. Naast zijn optredens als soloartiest in een meer fragiele en intieme setting, houdt accordeonist Hartwin Dhoore (Siger, Viorel) van de magie van een bal met andere muzikanten. Violist Pavel Souvandjiev (Hartwin’s neef) ontdekte na een klassieke muziekopleiding als veertienjarige de folkscene. Bekend als een van de oprichters van het succesvolle trio ‘Aerokorda’, tillen zijn viool skills tillen de muziek van het trio naar een hoger niveau. Flavia Escartin (cello) groeide op tussen wijngaarden en prachtige natuurlandschappen in Catalonië, waardoor haar stijl organisch en avontuurlijk klinkt.
