TCHA LIMBERGER ( VIOLIN), RENÉ BIKAR ( BRÁCS),
VILMOS CSIKOS ( DOUBLE BASS)
Tcha’s trio of Budapest musicians causes a sensation, with bursts of soaring
musical tragedy and czardas madness delivered with an astounding purity of sound
and hardly imaginable depth of musical dialogue.
In true Budapest gypsy style they switch between soaring intensity and
smouldering pathos delivering a passion and technical virtuosity that astounds.
MAGYAR NÓTA is music actually composed by the Hungarian nobility, to liven up
their noble feasts and parties. They were looking in the 19th century for
Hungarian music, that had to be less primitive than the traditional Hungarian
music, which was only played by the illiterate peasants.
So they invented a new style, based on elements of Hungarian folk music, both
textual and melodic-harmonic, all played with a classical Western European
sound.
They hired gypsy musicians to come and live with them at the castles, where they
should learn to play violin, double bass, clarinet and cimbalom in a classical
way. Then they should make the new repertoire into one of the most highly
regarded forms of popular music.
‘I myself started to learn that style because the Sinti, Gypsies from western
Europe, including my own family, very much look up to, and love, this Hungarian
music.
Manouche and Sinti used to copy that style, but without the necessary know-how
and especially without the Hungarian language, which one needs very much to be
able to interpret that style well.
This is why I started to learn Hungarian at the age of 20 and spent a year and a
half in Budapest to master this music.
I then founded the Tcha Limberger's Budapest Orchestra.
For this concert we speak of the Budapest Ensemble, since it consists of not
more than three musicians.
This music continues to fascinate me deeply.’

Son EP remarqué, « Hit the Roads », lui a

‘Family Tree’ is
Mendelssohn, Brahms, Schumann
Nadya Lis (Alto), Angela Ceban (Soprano), Daniela Rodó (Piano)
Spring Tone celebrates the essence of springtime and the blooming of flowers. In
the first part, attendees will enjoy the soulful melodies of German Lieder by F.
Mendelssohn and Brahms, accompanied by a piano interlude with music by R.
Schumann. This first part evokes the freshness of the season, with a recurring
theme of flowers and the awakening of spring. In the second part, the audience
will experience the captivating opera duets of Tchaikovsky, Delibes, and
Offenbach. Attendees are invited to join for an evening of music that captures
the beauty and vitality of springtime.

The musical duo Ocie Elliott consists of Jon Middleton and Sierra Lundy. The two
Canadians haven’t been making music together for very long, but their harmonious
folk immediately caught on and in no time they were touring the US, Canada and
Europe. (In 2022, they even played in AB as support act to Hollow Coves.) One of
their tracks was also to be heard in the hugely popular series Grey’s
Anatomy.Their soft, acoustic music is mainly about themes such as love and
connecting with others. One review even described their music as “the aural

"Ta Mavra Moura" is a three-piece band from Athens, Greece. While their
repertoire is centered around Greek folk music of the twentieth century like the
styles of rebetiko and laiko, their sound also touches upon more traditional
flavors and even expands into modern areas like the compositions of Manos
Hatzidakis and Nikos Xydakis.
The band consists of bouzouki and guitar which is the basis of the urban folk
sound of Athens during era of Rebetiko. A unique element of their music is the
use of flute that while being unusual in such an orchestra, blends in perfectly
and opens new horizons to their sound. Meanwhile, their three voices singing
solo or in harmony complete their musical imagery.

On May 9, AB welcomes Compact Disk Dummies, Chibi Ichigo, and up-and-coming
exciting European artists such as Magia Bruta, Bad Daughter, and Stanislawa.
There’s no better way to celebrate Europe Day than to throw a party to showcase
our local talents bound for global fame!AB Main HallCompact Disk DummiesIn 2012,
the very young brothers Lennert and Janus Coorevits – aka Compact Disk Dummies –
surprised friend and foe by winning Humo’s Rock Rally with their edgy
electro-pop. The year after that, they released their first EP with the dance
hit "The Reeling". The duo conquered the biggest festivals in the country (Dour,
Lokerse Feesten, Pukkelpop) and in Europe (Sziget, Les Transmusicales). Their
debut album 'Silver Souls', featuring dancefloor tracks like "Holy Love" and
"Girls Keep Drinking" was put out in 2016. Meanwhile, the brothers became true
TV stars thanks to their participation as the regular house band for the popular
TV show De Ideale Wereld. Two quickly sold-out AB shows in 2019 preceded their
second album 'Neon Fever Dream'. The rambunctious ‘I Remember’ from it should
have been the prelude to a new live conquest but the Covid-19 pandemic got in
the way. In late '23, they sold out the AB in no time once again, and now
they’re back with their brand-new album ‘The Signal’. Chibi
Ichigo Brussels-based artist Sabina Nurijeva, better known as Chibi Ichigo
(Japanese for ‘little strawberry’), released her second album at the end of
January: 'Na Half 1'. For it, she again worked with her life partner and
producer/DJ Umi Defoort (UM!), as well as Wieger Hoogendorp (Goldband). Producer
and mixer this time was the talented Luuk Cox from Shameboy. As a supporter of
the queer community, Chibi Ichigo fully throws herself into the electro-scene
with beats, dancers, and staunch synths, as well as a focus on safety and
self-love. She spreads a message of self-discovery and inner stability for a
world that is continuously changing and has you longing for authentic
connection. In her recent, stunning performance at AB, she appeared as a
glamorous diva in a flashy show that was interspersed with warm small talk,
welcoming her audience into her beautiful world from the very first minute.AB
ClubMagia BrutaMagia Bruta is the new adventure of Isabel Fernández, a composer
and producer whose inspiration ranges from mystical pop, experimental
electronics, 60's girl group harmonies, expansive minimalism, and telluric
sampling. Fernández, together with drummer and singer Aida Torres generates an
exciting shock wave of exciting harmonies and instrumental experimentation. In
their latest album, ‘Un Dia Nuevo’, there is no place for clichés, formulas or
mental prisons; here you will only find overflowing and free hymns about
alienation, love, truth and beauty.Bad DaughterMeet Split-born and Zagreb-based
singer-songwriter Dunja Ercegović, widely recognized as Bad Daughter. She first
captivated audiences with her stellar debut album 'Let Me Panic', an intense
8-track blend of dark electro-pop and 90s-inspired alt-rock. Produced by Leonard
Klaić, the mastermind behind the experimental electronic project Delapse, this
album quickly garnered critical acclaim, earning Bad Daughter accolades such as
the coveted Porin, Rock Off, and RUNDA awards in Croatia. Now, with her highly
anticipated second studio album on the horizon, Bad Daughter stands as one of
Croatia's most promising indie artists.StanislawaStanislawa is a queer visionary
artist living between Brussels and Amsterdam whose passion for 90s techno and
dreamy trance is only matched by her zeal for creating liberating sonic
landscapes. Founder and co-director of the Deep Down East collective, Stanislawa

the heart of Western Europe.9 May = Europe DaySince 2015, AB has been joyfully
opening its doors for Europe Day, a celebration of European music and musicians.
This year, we're even more excited as we celebrate the 10th edition of our
Europe Day bash together with the 10th anniversary of Liveurope. Liveurope was
initiated by AB, hitting up some of the continent's top venues, to help talented
European artists tour internationally. With Belgium heading the EU Presidency
and the European elections coming up, this edition takes on an extra special
significance, so we will celebrate in the Main Hall and AB Club!Producer and

The Reeling ».
tout nouvel album « The Signal ». Chibi Ichigo L'artiste bruxelloise Sabina

felbegeerde Porin, Rock Off en RUNDA Awards in Kroatië.
Stanislawa Stanislawa is
