Valgeir Sigurðsson, Benjamin Abel Meirhaeghe and Elisabeth Klinck present Isabelle LewisIn 2023, we were completely floored by the triumvirate Valgeir Sigurðsson, Benjamin Abel Meirhaeghe and Elisabeth Klinck at our outdoor festival Feeërieën. Detail: by ‘us’ we mean an audience of 2000 who expressed their appreciation through a standing ovation. Extra detail: behind the screens , we immediately made a pact with the sweaty musicians to – together with B-Classic – continue supporting this wonderful project in the future.After that, countertenor, director and performer Benjamin Abel Meirhaeghe and violinist Elisabeth Klinck (see too: the likes of Miet Warlops ‘One Song’) headed to Iceland. There, they worked in the studio of Icelandic producer and composer Valgeir Sigurðsson (see too: Björk, Feist, Damon Albarn, …) on an album that will see the light of day in autumn 2024 on the renowned Bedroom Community label.The project has since been given a name: Isabelle Lewis, a fictional character who embodies their collective musical spirit, a nostalgic shapeshifter with three faces, each embodying a unique world of sound. Musically, they draw their peculiar pop together with classical influences, moody melancholy and an operatic pulse. They are radical in their style and new perspectives seem to continuously unfold within their atmospheric landscapes. The poetic and mysterious lyrics, Meirhaeghe’s high operatic notes, or Sigurðsson’s sophisticated electronics, Klinck’s musical finesse, and their charismatic performance make this collaboration an absolute must-see.This production came about with the support of the Belgian federal government’s Tax Shelter measure, Gallop Tax Shelter, B-Classic and Het Nieuwstedelijk.

Valgeir Sigurðsson x Benjamin Abel Meirhaeghe x Elisabeth Klinck présentent 'ISABELLE LEWIS' En 2023, le triumvirat Valgeir Sigurðsson, Benjamin Abel Meirhaeghe et Elisabeth Klinck nous a complètement subjugués lors de notre festival en plein air Feeërieën. Détail : par "nous", nous entendons un public de 2000 personnes qui a exprimé son appréciation par une standing ovation. Autre détail : en coulisses, nous avons immédiatement conclu un pacte avec les musiciens en sueur pour continuer à soutenir ce merveilleux projet - en collaboration avec B-Classic - à l'avenir.Ensuite, le contre-ténor, metteur en scène et interprète Benjamin Abel Meirhaeghe et la violoniste Elisabeth Klinck (voir aussi a.o. 'One Song' de Miet Warlop) se sont rendus en Islande. Là, ils ont travaillé dans le studio du producteur et compositeur islandais Valgeir Sigurðsson (voir aussi : Björk, Feist, Damon Albarn, ...) sur un album qui verra le jour à l'automne 2024 sur le célèbre label Bedroom Community.Le projet a depuis reçu un nom : Isabelle Lewis, un personnage fictif qui incarne leur esprit musical collectif, un métamorphe nostalgique à trois visages, chacun incarnant un monde sonore unique. Musicalement, ils rapprochent leur pop aliénante d'influences classiques, d'une mélancolie sphérique et d'une pulsation opératique. Ils sont radicaux dans leur style et de nouvelles perspectives semblent toujours se déployer dans leurs paysages sphériques. Les paroles poétiques et mystérieuses, les notes aiguës d'opéra de Meirhaeghe, l'électronique sophistiquée de Sigurdsson, la finesse musicale de Klinck et leur performance charismatique font de cette collaboration un événement à ne pas manquer.Cette production a été réalisée avec le soutien de la mesure Tax Shelter du gouvernement fédéral belge, du Gallop Tax shelter, de B-Classic et du New Urban.

Valgeir Sigurðsson x Benjamin Abel Meirhaeghe x Elisabeth Klinck present ‘ISABELLE LEWIS' In 2023 vloerde het triumviraat Valgeir Sigurðsson, Benjamin Abel Meirhaeghe en Elisabeth Klinck ons compleet op ons outdoor festival Feeërieën. Detail: met ‘ons’ bedoelen we een 2000-koppig publiek dat hun appreciatie uitdrukte middels een staande ovatie. Nog een detail: achter de schermen smeedden we instant een pact met de bezwete muzikanten om dit prachtige project – samen met B-Classic - naar de toekomst toe mee verder te ondersteunen. Vervolgens trokken countertenor, regisseur en performer Benjamin Abel Meirhaeghe en violiste Elisabeth Klinck (zie ook o.a. Miet Warlop’s ‘One Song’) richting Ijsland. Daar werkten ze in de studio van de Ijslandse producer en componist Valgeir Sigurðsson (zie ook: Björk, Feist, Damon Albarn, …) aan een album dat najaar 2024 het levenslicht zal zien op het gerenommeerde label Bedroom Community. Het project kreeg inmiddels een naam: Isabelle Lewis, een fictief personage dat de belichaming is van hun collectieve muzikale geest, een nostalgische shapeshifter met drie gezichten die elk een unieke klankwereld belichamen. Muzikaal brengen ze hun bevreemdende pop dicht bij elkaar met klassieke invloeden, sferische melancholie en een operateske puls. Ze zijn radicaal in hun stijl en er lijken zich steeds nieuwe perspectieven te ontvouwen in hun sferische landschappen. De poëtische en mysterieuze lyrics, de hoge operateske noten van Meirhaeghe, de geraffineerde electronics van Sigurdsson, de muzikale finesse van Klinck en hun charismatische performance maken van deze samenwerking een absolute must see. Deze productie kwam tot stand met de steun van de Tax Shelter maatregel van de Belgische federale overheid, Gallop Tax shelter, B-Classic en het Nieuwstedelijk.
