prille beginperiode van de wereldgodsdienst islam, waar nu bijna twee miljard
mensen zich aan toeschrijven. Hoe heeft dit geloof de mensen in het 7e-eeuwse
Arabië bereikt? En wie is Mohammed, vrede zij met hem?

Lezard:
Met één been staat Lézard in het David Byrniaanse tijdperk, met het ander in de
underground post-punkscene van de jaren 80. Het is in de regel de kameleon die
van kleur verandert, niet zomaar iedere hagedis, maar die natuurwetten lapt
Lézard aan hun laars.
Frontman Neil Claes brengt vergezeld van 3 ijzersterke muzikanten een
bontkleurige en meerlagige set op een stijgend en dalend tempo en waarbij ze hun
invloeden van XTC, Talking Heads en hedendaagse post-punk acts niet onder de
banken steken.
De geometrische en dansbare sound van hun muziek wordt ondersteund door
projecties van digitaal verwerkte analoge beelden, goed voor een donders en
energiek gesamtkunstwerk.
Koala Disco:
Een vijfkoppige postpunkband uit Antwerpen, België. Wij heten je graag welkom in
onze maffe wereld van onzin, fluctuerende emoties en ongecontroleerde chaos. We
vertellen grillige verhalen van onsterfelijke honden die zich naar verre
planeten wagen om een plek te vinden om te sterven, tot kreeften met
mama-problemen. Het lijkt allemaal onzinnig, maar dat is het eigenlijk niet. Het
geluid is sterk beïnvloed door hedendaagse Psych en helden uit de jaren 80 als
Byrne en Bowie, maar laat je niet te veel vasthouden aan genres of invloeden.
Het is tegelijkertijd een beetje van alles en een beetje van niets.
Zó belangrijk voor de Europese kunstwereld en toch relatief onbekend in België:
de Vlaamse kunstenaar Jef Verheyen (1932-1984) keert terug naar Antwerpen.
Veertig jaar na zijn overlijden presenteert het KMSKA de eerste
solotentoonstelling van deze illustere moderne meester in zijn thuisstad. Een
primeur.
In de expo ontdekt de bezoeker een boeiend spel van licht en donker, van vorm en
kleur. Dankzij baanbrekend onderzoek van het M HKA krijgt Verheyens
experimentele zoektocht naar leegte vorm. Een zoektocht die ook vandaag nog
relevant is. Daarom worden de werken van Verheyen niet enkel in dialoog of
confrontatie geplaatst met zijn voorgangers en tijdgenoten, maar ook met
hedendaagse kunstenaars. Prestigieuze bruiklenen van onder andere de Yves Klein
Foundation, het Uecker Archiv en de Fondazione Lucio Fontana verrijken de expo
en plaatsen Verheyen in een internationaal kader.

Berthet-Rivière. Quiconque a vu ou verra le spectacle qui plonge dans les
arcanes d’une histoire abracadabradantesque, trouvera ce jeune homme et sa
complice Muriel Legrand de fait immensément polis. Qu’on en juge un peu : soit
un vaudeville à table (ou presque), quatre actes, treize personnages, un acteur
et une actrice ; soit une vendetta ourdie par Gérard contre son concurrent
Raymond, le jour où celui-ci vient enlever sa maîtresse, Inès, femme de Gérard,
alors que Frédéric, le fils de Raymond vient demander la main de Sophie, la
fille de Gérard, enceinte jusqu’au yeux… Tous les ingrédients d’un vaudeville
roboratif et d’une folle journée réunis sous la plume magistrale de Roger Dupré
dans laquelle s’engouffrent l’actrice et l’acteur surfant sur l’absurdité d’une
partition frénétique où la fantaisie mène le bal, et dans lequel on passe de la
lecture savoureuse à deux têtes à une danse endiablée à mille bras.
Symbolique et poétique, loufoque mais jamais dingue, Le mystère du gant pousse
la tradition vaudevillesque à son paroxysme, touche l’absurde et ne se refuse
aucune astuce pour nous redonner goût aux histoires.
Un pied de nez salutaire à la sériosité et à la morosité qui fait beaucoup de
bien.

de la biodiversité tout en déployant une « histoire de bêtes » aussi concrète
qu’extraordinaire. Elle nous enjoint à la nécessité de protéger le vivant, elle
nous dit la violence sous-jacente de notre monde, la difficulté à s’y faire une
place, nous alerte du risque aussi d’avoir un jour un ciel sans volatiles ; son

In deze reeks gaan we met de kinderen op verkenning en ontdekken we hoe de stad
tot op de dag van vandaag een echte inspiratiebron is voor kunstenaars en
artiesten. We trekken er zelf ook op uit en verkennen de omgeving om video en
geluidsopnames te maken. Deze gesprokkelde geluiden en beelden verwerken we en
vervormen we tot een hedendaagse audiovisuele compositie.
FR - Dans cet atelier, les participants découvrent comment la ville peut être
source d’inspiration à l’art en général. Les balades de découvertes et de la
culture permettront d’enregistrer sons et bruits de la ville. Une composition
audiovisuelle sera présentée plus tard grâce aux matériaux recueillis.
