Between Us by Denitsa Todorova and Marc Vanrunxt

Description

Between Us

Between Us is all about dialogue: between the two artists, Denitsa Todorova and Marc Vanrunxt, between the artists and the historical mansion, and last but not least, with the audience.

Denitsa Todorova created new work for her dialogue with both Marc Vanrunxt's choreography and the Queens' mansion. Her graphite drawings are the result of such a physical process of erasing, scraping away and building up, exploring the limits of the body. Her ‘dot drawings’ look like prints from a meditative dance.

Marc Vanrunxt explores the boundaries of dance as a medium and choreography as a language, redefining concepts such as time, space, energy and the body present in his work. Not infrequently, the choreographer collaborates with visual artists for this purpose. In Between Us, for instance, his video work Adagio (made in collaboration with Stef Van Looveren) enters into dialogue with Denitsa Todorova's drawings.
