Founded by Sara Dziri and Yasmine Dammak in 2019, Not Your Techno is a progressive party concept that challenges norms and fosters inclusivity within the thriving electronic music scene in Brussels and beyond.
In addition to being a play on words referencing a well-known Belgian electronic music festival, Not Your Techno embodies a progressive ethic focused on intersectionality, boldly advocating for the representation and empowerment of marginalized communities, including FLINTA individuals, people of color, and the LGBTQ+ community.

Monstera Occulta is a Brussels-based selectress, vinyl junkie and - of course - dj, who has been collecting music for more than 15 years. She draws inspiration from her Belgian-Moroccan roots on an eternal quest for new sounds that transcend borders. SWANA genres and music that embraces darkness have a special soft spot in her heart and in her sets. Popular belly dance, avant-garde psychedelia, industrial techno, electronic doom noise, yes please thank you. Monstera Occulta is a regular at Bruzz and Kiosk, feels at home in the sunshine of Horst festival and in the darkest corners of Café Central, and tonight she opens the rooftop to steer the transition from introspective performance to collective euphoria in (very) good directions.

3Phaz (EG)
3Phaz is a Cairo based electronic producer mostly known for his powerful and fresh take on Egyptian mahraganat/shaabi sound, called post-shaabi. His debut album Three Phase was released on Egyptian label 100Copies in 2020 and quickly carved 3Phaz’s way into the international club music scene allowing him to perform all around Europe. His last album DrumTraTrax was released by Colombian label TraTraTrax and with further singles and remixes released on the likes of Rinse, Boomkat, Polaar, Nashazphone, and Irsh, today 3Phaz is an ambassador for innovative Egyptian electronics playing clubs and radio stations around the globe. After his last set for Kiosk in 2023, Brussels seems ready for another round.

ZOBAYDA (EG/NL)
ZOBAYDA is an Egyptian transdisciplinary artist and a multi-talent juggling projects as a DJ, photographer, filmmaker, producer and curator. Continuing the tradition of bringing people together through rhythm and percussion, she intuitively selects tracks based on energy rather than on genre, mixing an array of beats and sounds with influences from around the global south and its diaspora. Currently ZOBAYDA is based in the Netherlands, from where she regularly takes a direct train to Kiosk Radio, and once before to this very rooftop for the Tashweesh closing party. Welcome back

Outre son clin d'œil à un célèbre festival de musique électronique belge, Not Your Techno incarne une éthique progressiste axée sur l'intersectionnalité, plaidant avec audace pour la représentation et l'autonomisation des communautés marginalisées, notamment les personnes transgenres, les personnes racisées et la communauté LGBTQ+.

Nourrie de ses racines belgo-marocaines, elle est en quête perpétuelle de nouveaux sons capables de transcender les frontières. Les genres SWANA et les musiques qui font place à l'obscurité tiennent une place de choix dans son cœur et dans ses sets. Danse du ventre populaire, psychédélisme d’avant-garde, techno industrielle, doom noise électronique, yes please ! Monstera Occulta est une habituée de Bruzz et de Kiosk, se sent chez elle sous le soleil de Horst Festival commes dans les recoins les plus sombres du Café Central, et ce soir, elle ouvre la terrasse du rooftop pour guider la transition entre une performance introspective et une euphorie collective dans de (très) bonnes directions.

3Phaz est un producteur de musique électronique basé au Caire, qui s'est fait connaître pour sa version puissante et originale du mahraganat/shaabi égyptien, appelé post-shaabi. Son premier album, Three Phase, sorti sur le label égyptien 100Copies en 2020, lui vaut une place sur la scène internationale de la musique club et une tournée à travers l'Europe. Avec son dernier album, DrumTraTrax sorti sur le label colombien TraTraTrax, 3Phaz s'est fait l'ambassadeur, parmi les morceaux d’autres labels comme Rinse, Boomkat, Polaar, Nashazphone et Irsh, d'une électro égyptienne innovante jouée dans les clubs et les radios du monde entier. ZOBAYDA est une artiste égyptienne transdisciplinaire aux multiples talents qui jongle entre le DJing, la photographie, le cinéma, la production et la curation. Fidèle à la tradition qui consiste à fédérer autour du rythme et des percussions, elle sélectionne intuitivement ses morceaux en fonction de leur énergie plutôt que de leur genre, un mélange audacieux de rythmes et de sons aux influences du Sud et de sa diaspora. ZOBAYDA est actuellement basée aux Pays-Bas, d'où elle prend régulièrement un train direct à destination de Kiosk Radio, et même de ce rooftop pour la récente soirée de clôture de Tashweesh. Behalve een woordspeling op een bekend Belgisch elektronisch muziekfestival, belichaamt Not Your Techno een progressieve ethiek gericht op intersectionaliteit, waarbij het moedig pleit voor de vertegenwoordiging en empowerment van gemarginaliseerde gemeenschappen, waaronder FLINTA-personen, mensen van kleur en de LGBTQ+-gemeenschap.

Voortbouwend op de traditie om mensen samen te brengen door middel van ritme en percussie, selecteert ze intuïtief tracks op basis van energie in plaats van genre, waarbij ze een scala aan beats en geluiden mixt met invloeden uit het globale zuiden en de diaspora. Op dit moment woont ZOBAYDA in Nederland, van waaruit ze regelmatig de trein neemt naar Kiosk Radio, en al één keer eerder naar dit dakterras voor het slotfeest van Tashweesh. Welkom terug
