La projection de ce film se fera en présence de la réalisatrice.  D’Abdul à Leila?est l’odyssée d’une femme qui chante son histoire pour se réinventer, portée par un irrépressible désir de vivre. Après une amnésie causée par un accident, Leila, jeune artiste française d’origine irakienne, se rapproche de sa famille et plonge dans ses racines pour reconstruire son passé. Elle apprend l’arabe, interprète les poèmes de son père irakien exilé et s’immerge dans l’histoire de la guerre du Golfe. 
Leila Albayaty est une artiste pluridisciplinaire d'origine irakienne, de nationalité française, travaillant dans différents pays. Elle a réalisé le court-métrage?VU?(2009), qui a reçu une mention spéciale au Festival de Berlin 2009.?BERLIN TELEGRAM?a été sélectionné dans une trentaine de festivals internationaux et a remporté le prix TV5 du meilleur film francophone à Genève.?FACE B, un docu-drama de 40 minutes, a été présenté en première mondiale à la Berlinale 2015.?D’Abdul à Leila?a fait partie de la sélection officielle du Brussels International Film Festival.

De film wordt vertoond in aanwezigheid van de regisseuse.  D'Abdul à Leila is de odyssee van een vrouw die haar verhaal zingt om zichzelf opnieuw uit te vinden, gedreven door een onbedwingbaar verlangen om te leven. Leila, een jonge Franse kunstenares van Irakese afkomst, lijdt aan geheugenverlies na een ongeluk. Ze verzoent zich met haar familie en duikt in haar wortels om haar verleden te reconstrueren. Ze leert Arabisch, interpreteert de gedichten van haar verbannen Iraakse vader en verdiept zich in de geschiedenis van de Golfoorlog. 
Leila Albayaty is een multidisciplinaire kunstenares van Irakese afkomst met de Franse nationaliteit en werkt in verschillende landen. Ze regisseerde de kortfilm VU (2009), waarvoor ze op het filmfestival van Berlijn in 2009 een speciale vermelding kreeg.?BERLIN TELEGRAM werd geselecteerd voor een dertigtal internationale festivals en won de TV5-prijs voor de beste Franstalige film in Genève.?FACE B, een docudrama van 40 minuten, ging in wereldpremière op de Berlinale van 2015.?D'Abdul à Leila maakte deel uit van de officiële selectie van het Brussels International Film Festival.

D’Abdul à Leila is the odyssey of a woman who sings her story in order to reinvent herself, driven by an irrepressible desire to live. After suffering amnesia following an accident, Leila, a young French artist of Iraqi origin, reunites with her family and delves into her roots to reconstruct her past. She learns Arabic, interprets the poems of her exiled Iraqi father and immerses herself in the history of the Gulf War.
