Découvrez la quatrième et dernière partie de Doppelgänger, le projet pluriannuel au cours duquel le Danish String Quartet a invité des compositeurs contemporains à dialoguer avec un chef-d'œuvre de Franz Schubert. Pour cette finale, le quatuor invite le violoncelliste Johannes Rostamo, violoncelle solo du Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, à contribuer à un programme de quintettes à cordes. L'œuvre centrale est le 'Quintette à cordes en do majeur' de Schubert, considéré comme son testament musical. Il inspire la toute nouvelle composition de Thomas Adès, 'Wreath for Franz Schubert'. Tout comme Schubert, Adès qui est connu pour son style éclectique et la richesse de ses timbres, utilise la distribution singulière du quatuor à cordes et y ajoute un violoncelle.

As a grand finale, the quartet invites cellist Johannes Rostamo, cello leader of the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, for a programme of string quintets. The central work is Schubert's 'String Quintet in C Major', considered his musical testament, which becomes the inspiration for Thomas Adès' brand new composition 'Wreath for Franz Schubert'.
