Love, sorrow and desire

Description

Love, Sorrow and Desire, the search for meaning.

Beginning with Wagner’s passionate Prelude and Liebestod from Tristan and Isolde, telling us of unfulfilled desires and tragic loves; exploring the introspective world of Mahler through his Songs of a Wayfarer, moving through the melancholic beauty of Mahler’s Adagietto, from the Symphony no.5, and finally arriving at the warmth, peace, and almost domestic kind of love that Wagner brings to life in his Siegfried Idyll. Brought to you by Koinonia Orchestra of Europe.
