Director's Biography:
Ibrahim Nash’at is a multi-award-winning Egyptian documentary filmmaker based in Berlin, Germany. In his career in journalism, he has worked with several international channels and online platforms such as Deutsche Welle, Al Jazeera, Business Insider, AJ+, Voice of America, and others. He co-edited Talal Derki’s latest film “Under the Sky of Damascus,” which premiered at Panorama – Berlinale 2023 and won the Golden Alexander at the 25th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival. “Hollywoodgate” is Ibrahim’s first feature film.

HOLLYWOODGATE est le témoignage fascinant et audacieux de l’année que le réalisateur Ibrahim Nash’at a passée avec les talibans après le retrait des États-Unis de l’Afghanistan. Risquant sa vie, Nash’at se trouve aux côtés des talibans lorsqu’ils pénètrent dans les bases américaines avec les 7 milliards de dollars d’armements laissés sur place. Ibrahim Nash’at, basé à Berlin, en Allemagne, est un documentariste égyptien primé à plusieurs reprises. Au cours de sa carrière journalistique, il a collaboré avec plusieurs chaînes internationales et plateformes en ligne, telles que Deutsche Welle, Al Jazeera, Business Insider, AJ+, Voice of America, etc. Il a co-édité le dernier film de Talal Derki, “Under the Sky of Damascus”, dont la première a eu lieu au Panorama de la Berlinale 2023, et qui a remporté l’Alexandre d’or lors du 25e Festival du documentaire de Thessalonique. “Hollywoodgate” est le premier long-métrage d’Ibrahim.
