Jungijn Lee & Jaeuk Lee - 'Voice & Red Line'

Description

With the exhibition by Jungjin Lee, titled VOICE, the images originally made in deserts, mountains, oceans, and plains should be considered as metaphors, a form of meditation. Jungjin Lee does not represent landscapes or nature. Landscapes allow her to see her inner self, and her goal is to create images of what she feels there: the eternal feeling of being open and present in the world.

With the exhibition by Jaeuk Lee, titled RED LINE, his photographic practice differs from journalistic photography, which captures the scene of history, and from archive-based work, which reconstructs historical documents produced in the past in the present. It seems that the artist is not trying to clearly show history but to confront the enigma of the invisibility of history through photography.

The exhibition will form part of the contemporary photography exhibition programme at the 9th PhotoBrussels Festival. (https://www.photobrusselsfestival.com)
