Eindhoven

Eindhoven is home to PSV Eindhoven, one of the top 3 football clubs in the Netherlands. In a city known for sporting culture, why not join in? Try your hand at skateboarding at Area 51 skate park, or explore virtual reality at Enversed VR Centre. For an evening activity in Eindhoven, ride along the Van Gogh-Roosegaarde Cycle Route, a luminous cycling path which traverses Eindhoven and the nearby town of Nuenen, areas which served as inspiration for the famous Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh. For a less physically intense experience, challenge your mind by visiting the Van Abbe Museum where you can contemplate a large artistic collection. At the Philips Museum, learn about how the electronics giant Phillips transformed the city.

Tour the Strijp S district, which was formerly warehouses for the multinational conglomerate Phillips. Today, the old factory buildings have been converted into trendy and colourful spaces lined with street art. If you’re not tired yet, walk around the remodelled district of Woensel-West whose architecture is inspired by Arabic influences.

The Dutch city of light as Eindhoven is sometimes known, is accessible by air, train and road. From within the Netherlands, there are direct railway connections from Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague. If travelling by bus, travellers can take a Flixbus from Antwerp and arrive in Eindhoven in just under 1 and a half hours, while those from Brussels will need around 2 and a half hours to get to Eindhoven. If travelling by air, Eindhoven airport is the second largest airport in the Netherlands and several flights to and from various European cities are available.
