Comedians

Edo Berger

Edo Berger won several Dutch comedy festivals before expanding to performing in English. He has performed as far away as Tokyo, Moscow and Oman. His radio column on Q-music was nominated for the Silver Reiss-microphone for best radio item. You can check out his documentary about the comedian's love for anecdotes about horrible comedy gigs, called Dictator of Comedy, on Youtube.

Richard Walker

I’ve been living in Amsterdam so long I thought I was Dutch but then I looked at my passport and it turns out I’m British. Sorry.

Mehdi Guerfali

Mehdi, originally from Tunisia, relocated to Paris before ultimately settling in the Netherlands. He came for love, often threatening to leave after a long rainy day, but the allure of Dutch beer keeps him in place. Having been immersed in different cultures throughout his life, he enjoys reflecting on these experiences in his comedy.

Mehdi is the type to crack jokes in the shower and laugh at his own punchlines. He figured it was time to share this with everyone else (minus the shower part!).

Mehdi's comedic style has garnered a variety of reviews: “so funny,” declares his mom; “superstar” is what his wife regularly calls him; and “can do better,” suggests his best friend. Even critics can't help but muster a “Hihi” in response to his comedic performances.

Sahana Prakash

"Who is Sahana Prakash? Well, she has been trying to figure that out for 37 years now. She says “I think therefore I am (copied quote). And when I don’t think, people laugh at me (#truestory).” She tries to take each moment as it comes but has already planning an obituary. Mother, wife, daughter, lady-like? Trying to fit in every box society has created but she feels like a circle herself. Life is full of contradictions, and so is Sahana."

Juan Monetti

Hi, I am Juan, an Argentinean living in Haarlem. I am a storytelling enthusiast now doing standup, I have a solid script: "How I do not speak Dutch while I date my dutch teacher".

Program

Doors open at 7:30pm. Show at 8pm. There will be a 15 min intermission.

Venue

Next to the famous bar with city beach, the studio if the Kap will be open. A large space with a roof terrace for a perfect evening out.

De Oerkap is a 6-minute walk from Haarlem station. There is plenty of space for bicycles on the grounds, but not for cars. There is a parking garage in the street at the Koepel and there is plenty of (free) space in the Sportliedenbuurt across the Oudeweg
