Loving Room brings local performers and music lovers with a mission to provide intimate and inspiring experiences in beautiful cosy spaces. Because who doesn’t want to discover new locations and upcoming talent all in the same space at the same time?

Jaclyn Rose is a poet who is dabbling her feet in the world of spoken word. Her poetry is mostly about healing, love ,vulnerability as a strength and mental health. With her word, she dives deep into the darkets places of her being to create light with the strokes of her pen. She is inspired by life, nature and her daughter.

Mireille

SHE. #NT2teacher & Draws, writes, trains, hosts, sings, poems, laughs, prays, cries and admires. Born in Suriname. Raised in villages in the Netherlands. Versatile, creative and entrepreneurial. Willing to learn new things and explore new paths has brought Mireille a lot of fun and exciting moments. Poetry came her way in 2008 during Amsterdam World Book City in Westerpark and has fortunately stayed close to her. She has been writing diaries full since her 1st crush in high school at age 12. And this is another exciting moment. Njoy!

Thijs Helder

If southern spain, south america, the balkan, a few baroque - , and some twentieth century composers would play the blues in an ill favored rural bar in northern europe at 2 am, it would sound somewhat like Thijs Helders guitar. After a 20 year break from playing in various world music and theatrical settings, I recently reinvented myself and my music, and took up the guitar in various new projects- poetry being one of those.

One poet put it nicely: 'you're playing as if the guitar gently blushes being handled like that'.

Kevin Groen

The Word Magician (Kevin Groen) is a behavioural change enthusiast & spoken word artist who doesn't shy away from exploring the uncomfortable. As an adopted South-Korean boy, identity has always been an important theme throughout his life, but it took years before he discovered the purpose and words that would give meaning to his experience. Today he uses his voice to help his clients feel more alive, achieve sustainable behavioural change, and confront audiences with prejudices and unconscious biases you didn't even know you had.

Katy

Described as “intimate folk”, Katy Corduroy’s music explores the raw moments in life through sentimental vocals and soothing guitar. Music has always been a way for them to process emotions and connect with the world. Their music is inspired by artists like Gregory Alan Isakov, Leif Vollebekk, Arny Margret and many others whose songs you’d likely listen to while peering out a train window on a rainy day. Katy Corduroy’s debut album ‘Eerste’ was released in 2022. When performing with poet, Kevin Groen, they together become K-squared.

15:35 - 16:30 Open Mic

During the open mic, 6 more shortlisted musicians can showcase their own songs after the concert. Please sign up with a musician ticket for this event if you want to perform and bring with you your instruments. We will have a capacity of maximum 6 musicians, 1-2 songs per musician.

Location: Restaurant Bosbaan

Time: Doors open at 1:30 pm. We start playing around 2:15pm.
