Tatsuya Inuikawa - Livres, Formes & Espaces

A unique opportunity to discover the unique and original work of bookbinding artist Tatsuya Inuikawa at the Erasmus House.
Echoing the ancient editions and bindings that form the soul of the museum, this presentation will be hosted by Tatsuya Inuikawa, a craftsman whose trade consists in shaping the spaces of books with a rare sensitivity.
Tatsuya Inuikawa has produced a large number of bespoke bindings, combining high quality and creativity.
In 2012, he founded his own bookbinding workshop, La Rivière Sèche, where each creation is the result of meticulous reflection on the volume and spaces of the book, which unfold organically.
A master of both traditional and modern bookbinding techniques, he has designed books in a wide variety of contexts, in collaboration with artists, graphic designers, bibliophiles and collectors.
His know-how, combined with his experience, enables him to meet the most demanding requirements, whether aesthetic or technical.
During this presentation, you will have the opportunity to discover a new work, inspired by the museum's gardens, which embodies the beauty and harmony of this plant world.

Une occasion unique de découvrir l’œuvre singulière et originale de l’artiste relieur Tatsuya Inuikawa à la Maison d’Érasme. En écho avec les éditions et reliures anciennes, qui constituent l’âme du musée, cette présentation sera animée par Tatsuya Inuikawa, un artisan dont le métier consiste à façonner les espaces du livre avec une rare sensibilité.
Tatsuya Inuikawa a réalisé de nombreuses reliures sur mesure, alliant haute qualité et créativité. En 2012, il fonde son atelier de reliure « La Rivière Sèche », où chaque création résulte d'une réflexion minutieuse sur les volumes et les espaces du livre, qui se déploient de manière organique.
Maîtrisant à la fois les techniques traditionnelles et modernes de la reliure, il a conçu des ouvrages dans des contextes variés, en collaboration avec des artistes, des graphistes, des bibliophiles et des collectionneurs.
Son savoir-faire, allié à son expérience, lui permettent de répondre aux exigences les plus pointues, qu’elles soient esthétiques ou techniques. Lors de cette présentation, vous aurez l’opportunité de découvrir une nouvelle œuvre, inspirée par les jardins du musée, qui incarne la beauté et l’harmonie de cet univers végétal.

Een unieke gelegenheid om het originele werk van boekbinder Tatsuya Inuikawa te ontdekken in het Erasmushuis.
Met de oude edities en boekbanden die de ziel van het museum vormen als klankbord, zal deze presentatie worden gegeven door Tatsuya Inuikawa, een vakman die de ruimtes van boeken met een zeldzame gevoeligheid vormgeeft. Tatsuya Inuikawa heeft een groot aantal op maat boekbanden geproduceerd, waarbij hoge kwaliteit en creativiteit hand in hand gaan.
In 2012 richtte hij zijn eigen boekbindatelier op, La Rivière Sèche, waar elke creatie het resultaat is van nauwgezette reflectie over de omvang en ruimtes van het boek, die zich organisch ontvouwen.
Hij beheerst zowel traditionele als moderne boekbindtechnieken en heeft boeken ontworpen in de meest uiteenlopende contexten, in samenwerking met kunstenaars, grafisch ontwerpers, bibliofielen en verzamelaars.
Zijn knowhow, gecombineerd met zijn ervaring, stelt hem in staat om aan eisen te voldoen, zowel esthetisch als technisch.
