Isabelle Beernaert heeft opgemerkt dat in al haar stukken een mysterieus vrouwelijk karakter gehuld in zwarte kledij, ten tonele verschijnt. Hierdoor besefte ze dat er altijd al een aanwezigheid was van iets essentieels die ze dieper aan het onderzoeken is ; de donkere moeder.
La Dame En Noir is een karaktervol en krachtig totaalspektakel met moderne dans & live percussie ; de hartslag van de aarde.
Dans, zang, gesproken woord, decor, muziek, en visuals smelten samen tot een mystieke en resonerende ervaring. De klanken van organische drums, Noord-Afrikaanse-, Hebreeuwse-, Arabische- en Iberische muziek nemen je mee op een reis door alle windrichtingen, culturen en talen.
In zwart zijn alle kleuren aanwezig. Het zwarte absorbeert. Zwart is de kleur van de rust, stilte en duisternis die nodig is om een zaad te doen ontkiemen. Een kind in de baarmoeder verkeert in het donker. Voordat de lente komt, is er de winter.
Zwart is zwanger van licht.

All colors are present in black. The black absorbs. Black is the color of the peace, quiet and darkness necessary for a seed to germinate. A child in the womb is in the dark. Before spring comes, there is winter.
