Description
Geboren en getogen in Melsele, heeft muziek altijd een centrale rol gespeeld in Guido Kersschot's leven.
Gestart in het Melseels kinderkoor o.l.v. pastoor Sabot, ging de muzikale ontdekkingsreis echt van start. Na zang en blokfluit, volgde slagwerk en uiteindelijk ook de gitaar. Zo ging zijn muzikale ontwikkeling steeds verder. En zoals dat dan gaat, volgden er heel wat groepjes (Kastaar, The Teachers, The Hot Lick Soul Band, Spinelli Connection, Baneran) die zijn muzikale horizon ruim hebben verbreed. Momenteel toert hij met Triple Temper, een band met akoestische gitaren en bas waarin vooral samenzang centraal staat. Want dat is wat hem steeds bekoord heeft: een goede melodie met inspirerende zanglijnen.
Maar hij treedt ook graag solo op, enkel gewapend met zijn gitaar en stem. Een goede tekst, soms met een verhaal erbij om de achtergrond mee te geven en dat allemaal onder het motto “less means more”! Dat heeft menig publiek al kunnen bekoren, tot zelfs in Ierland, waar hij als busker elk jaar aan de slag gaat, zowel op straat als in pubs met lokale muzikanten! Ierland en de geschiedenis ervan sluipt dan ook geregeld binnen in de songkeuze.

Barno koevoet & the duijmspijckers
Frontman en songschrijver Arno Vahoutte vond de rudimentaire nummers die hij
tijdens de eerste lockdown neerpende eerder moeilijk passen bij z’n andere band
Budget Trash, dus stampte hij gewoon een nieuw project uit de grond. Dat stampen
mag je vervolgens ook op eerste worp ‘2020 ep’ vrij letterlijk nemen: het
vijftal knalt doorheen amper zeven minuten vier verschroeiende hardcoresongs
tegen je smoel, vlijmscherp en vaak verrassend inventief.

Mitraille's levensmotto is er eentje van Sleaford Mods held Jason Williamson:
"Go listen to some fucking garage punk, you pointy little tit." En dat vat
meteen helemaal samen waar de band voor staat: vettige punk en vuile garage,
gemaakt door de roadie van Equal Idiots en zijn maten die iets te veel naar Ty
Segall's Slaughter House hebben geluisterd.
Begin 2018 brachten ze 'Schroot' uit op Belly Button Records (o.a. King Dick en
The Jagged Frequency).

Jonge helden! Maarten van Buyten en Willem Liczner besloten een band te starten
nadat ze een show hadden gezien van een lokale punkband. Ze namen hun eerste
nummers op in KASK Studios met Yunas De Proost (Meltheads) en zijn nu volop
bezig aan een EP onder het toeziend oog van Pieter Van Buyten (Flip Kowlier, The
Kids, Roosbeef, … ). Moderne (Post-)Punk, Boordevol Energie!!!

île de Jacques Schwartz-Bart, et de devenir musicien de jazz. Les airs et les
arrangements ont été écrits pour célébrer chaque étape de ce voyage périlleux
mais gratifiant. Contrairement à la plupart de ses travaux antérieurs, cet opus
n’est pas ancré dans les grooves afro-caribéens. Il porte néanmoins la marque de
polyrythmies dialoguant avec des mélodies lyriques, tout en embrassant
l’esthétique du jazz moderne américain, y compris son mélange le plus récent de
grooves hip hop et d’improvisation. A travers ce disque, il a voulu peindre une
fresque moderne riche en couleurs, tout en restant fidèle à la tradition

and various experiments by artists from of a range of backgrounds, for Mondays
worthy of a Friday night out!
Lundynamite also invites you to discover unique spots in the municipalities of
Schaerbeek and Saint-Josse, and even beyond.

Tcha’s trio of Budapest musicians causes a sensation, with bursts of soaring
musical tragedy and czardas madness delivered with an astounding purity of sound
and hardly imaginable depth of musical dialogue.
In true Budapest gypsy style they switch between soaring intensity and
smouldering pathos delivering a passion and technical virtuosity that astounds.
MAGYAR NÓTA is music actually composed by the Hungarian nobility, to liven up
their noble feasts and parties. They were looking in the 19th century for
Hungarian music, that had to be less primitive than the traditional Hungarian
music, which was only played by the illiterate peasants.
So they invented a new style, based on elements of Hungarian folk music, both
textual and melodic-harmonic, all played with a classical Western European
sound.
They hired gypsy musicians to come and live with them at the castles, where they
should learn to play violin, double bass, clarinet and cimbalom in a classical
way. Then they should make the new repertoire into one of the most highly
regarded forms of popular music.
‘I myself started to learn that style because the Sinti, Gypsies from western
Europe, including my own family, very much look up to, and love, this Hungarian
music.
Manouche and Sinti used to copy that style, but without the necessary know-how
and especially without the Hungarian language, which one needs very much to be
able to interpret that style well.
This is why I started to learn Hungarian at the age of 20 and spent a year and a
half in Budapest to master this music.
I then founded the Tcha Limberger's Budapest Orchestra.
For this concert we speak of the Budapest Ensemble, since it consists of not
more than three musicians.
This music continues to fascinate me deeply.’
