How would your life look if you could rediscover your sexuality in public spaces?
PEEKABOO is a vision of a world transformed into a playground of sensuality. This universe imagines new ways of connecting through cruising: the pursuit of fleeting, sexual encounters in open, public spaces. Theatre maker Maxime Dreesen approaches this phenomenon as an exploration of experimental relationships and serendipitous encounters.
Music, hypnosis, drag, text, and dance intertwine in this performance. You’ll meet a host of characters such as shapeshifter Couenne, mating bird Courtney, superstar Birame, Oscar The Explorer, Julia the hypnotist in the sky, and Benne on the keys. They collide and melt, search and hide, sing and laugh within a scenography of touche-touche—as vibrant and sensual as the characters themselves. Each one is on a personal quest for pleasure.
Curiosity and excitement weave through this story, blending kinky comedy, campy musical numbers, and intimate ASMR in a dreamy, Teletubby-esque landscape.

Hoe zou je leven eruitzien als jij je seksualiteit opnieuw kon onderzoeken in de publieke ruimte?
PEEKABOO is een visioen waarin de wereld een seksspeeltuin is. Dit universum verbeeldt nieuwe manieren van contact via cruising: het zoeken van vluchtige, seksuele contacten in de buitenlucht. Theatermaker Maxime Dreesen benadert dit fenomeen als het verdwalen in een web van experimentele relaties en onverwachte ontmoetingen.
Muziek, hypnose, drag, tekst en dans komen samen in deze performance. Je ontmoet tal van entiteiten zoals shapeshifter Couenne, mating bird Courtney, superstar Birame, Oscar The Explorer, Julia the hypnotist in the sky en Benne on the keys. Ze botsen en druipen, zoeken en verstoppen, zingen en lachen in een scenografie van touche–touche die even levendig en seksueel is als de personages zelf. Elks op zoek naar hun persoonlijke idee van plezier.
Nieuwsgierigheid en opwinding vormen de rode draad door dit verhaal, dat kinky comedy, campy musical songs en intieme ASMR samenbrengt in een dromerig, teletubbie-achtig landschap.
