Description

The opening ceremony of the Millenium Festival will highlight the power of art in an ideological struggle. Before the screening of A Song for My Land which will be attended by the director, Charlie Chaplin’s final speech in The Great Dictator will resonate on the big screen, echoing his call for a fairer world.

Synopsis:

Can a rural school music teacher change the world?

Ramiro Lezcano, a rural music teacher in Argentina, discovers something disturbing: airplanes are spraying agrochemicals near schools, endangering the health of his students. So, Ramiro and the children compose songs to denounce this issue, but the initiative meets fierce resistance in the local community. The teacher decides to take his protest to another level to be heard and organizes a massive concert in the middle of the countryside: an “environmental Woodstock”.

Director's Biography:

Mauricio was born in Buenos Aires in 1985. His work as director and producer includes documentary series broadcasted on Tv Pública Argentina, Red Bull TV media House, History Channel, Al Jazeera, EPSN, Canal 9, Canal Encuentro and DeporTV. In cinema, he has worked as assistant director and editor in internationally awarded films that have been commercially released in theaters around the world.

La cérémonie d’ouverture du Festival Millenium mettra à l’honneur la puissance de l’art dans une lutte idéologique. Avant la projection de A Song for My Land qui sera en présence du réalisateur, le discours final de Charlie Chaplin dans Le Dictateur résonnera sur grand écran faisant écho à son appel à un monde plus juste.

Synopsis :

Un professeur de musique d’une école rurale peut-il changer le monde?

Ramiro Lezcano, un professeur de musique en milieu rural en Argentine, découvre que des avions pulvérisent des produits agrochimiques près des écoles, mettant en danger la santé de ses élèves. Ramiro et les enfants composent alors des chansons pour dénoncer ce problème, mais l’initiative suscite une forte opposition. Le professeur décide d’aller plus loin dans sa protestation et organise un concert grandiose en pleine campagne : un “Woodstock environnemental”.
