Faye & The Mockingbirds


"Faye and the mockingbirds" is an acoustic Cover Band from Luxembourg.

They rearrange classical and modern Hits in acoustic covers.

All of those songs deserve to stay in musical memory.


About us :


August 2019: Georges was looking for a few musicians to support a charity project. Faye and Marc also took part to the "Charity Jukebox" project and that's how they got to know each other.

Even after the Charity event in September which was a complete success they didn't lose sight of each other.

During the pandemic they stayed connected and recorded their first Cover Song "Time after Time" without even seeing each other. They released the Song and the Video in 2021 under the Name of "Faye and the Mockingbirds".

​

In 2021 many villages in Luxembourg were affected by floods. To help the victims a small festival was set up to collect donations. "Faye and the mockingbirds" were lucky enough to be involved as band of the festival and as Co-organizer.

​

Jean Luc is giving his bassline on an acoustic bass and his choir practiced voice since mars 2022 and Yannick found his way as Drummer to our Band january 2023.

​

Together their main goal is to pass on their good mood and passion for music to the viewers and listeners.

SANDRO LORIER TRIO Sandro Lorier (Rosenberg/Bamberger/Weiss/Antoni) est un guitariste/chanteur/compositeur/auteur de Latin Jazz, et Musique du monde.. Il est le fils de Paquito Lorier, qui est le compositeur du standard de Jazz Manouche «Paquito» joué par beaucoup de musiciens dans le monde entier. Issu d’une famille de musiciens d’origine manouche, il a été bercé depuis son plus jeune âge avec différentes musiques, bien sur le Jazz Manouche de Django Reinhardt, la Rumba Flamenca de Paco de Lucia, ou encore la Bossa Nova, mais bien d'autres styles.. Paquito lui a initié ses connaissances et les bases de l’instrument. Sandro gratouiller de la guitare étant jeune mais avait déjà une très bonne oreille musicale. Il eut le vrai déclic à l’âge de 14 ans, quand son père le ramena voir George Benson en live à Cannes.. L’année d’après (en 2009), il avait déjà atteint un très bon niveau et eut la chance de rencontrer et de jouer avec le célèbre guitariste Manitas de Plata aux Saintes Maries de la Mer qui lui a donné de précieux conseils. En 2013, Sandro a été invité à participer sur un concours jeunes talents à Paris dont il a remporté le premier prix, le public a été impressionné par son jeu aux doigts car il est un des rares, voire le seul guitariste manouche à jouer les standards de Jazz à la technique flamenco, le Picado, donc sans médiator. En 2014, il fait l’inauguration d’un festival Gipsy Jazz à Saint-Tropez. Le 15 Octobre 2015, il donne un concert en trio au théâtre de la Manufacture à Nancy pour la promotion de son premier album (sorti la même année) intitulé Gypsy Favela (qui est le titre d’une de ses compositions) sur le Festival NJP (Nancy Jazz Pulsations). Dans le même mois, Sandro nous fait découvrir son talent de chanteur avec une version de la chanson Maria Maria de Carlos Santana en Rumba Flamenca interprétée en live sur un plateau télé qu’on peut d’ailleurs retrouver sur YouTube. En Février 2016, il accompagne le chanteur SHAKE au Grand REX à Paris. Le 07 Octobre 2016, il joue à L’Olympia à Paris toujours au côté de son père Paquito pour une soirée spéciale Jazz Manouche. En Juillet 2017, Sandro met les pieds pour la première fois sur le territoire américain en donnant une série de concerts à New York pendant plus d'une semaine. Le 15 Août 2017, il donne un concert en trio sur le Festival «au Grès du Jazz» à La Petite Pierre dans le Grand Est pour clôturer la promotion de son premier album «Gypsy Favela». Début de l’année 2018, il sort son deuxième album intitulé «Fuerteventura» et dans la même année son troisième «Destination» avec 12 titres dont 11 compositions, vous pouvez retrouver tous ces morceaux sur les plateformes de streaming (YouTube, Spotify, Deezer,...). Le 17 Août 2018, départ pour une tournée de plus d’un mois à Chicago au côté de son père Paquito, donnant des concerts dans des clubs de Jazz tels que le Space à Evanston ou encore le célèbre Green Mill où Al Capone y séjourné à l’époque, ils ont aussi fait leur premier passage à la télévision américaine de Saint-Louis. En 2019, encore une tournée aux Etats-Unis donnant des concerts dans des tas d'endroits à Chicago, Saint-Louis (la ville de naissance de Chuck Berry), mais aussi sur un Festival proche de San Francisco.. Le 30 Mai 2019, il met le pied pour la première fois sur le territoire japonais cette fois ci accompagné de son Père pour une semaine de concerts à Tokyo et d’autres villes du Japon. Sandro a enregistré un certain nombres de compositions personnelles que vous pouvez retrouver sur YouTube mais il nous a montrer notamment son talent en tant qu'auteur avec un morceau intitulé "Retour à La Mer" qui figure sur YouTube, et qui a bien marcher, mais également sa capacité de chanter les même notes qu'a la guitare, ce qu'on appelle "le Scat" utilisé beaucoup par le Maître George Benson.. Le 07 Octobre 2022, il se produis à la Salle Poirel en quartet pour un concert magique que vous pouvez retrouver sur YouTube, la vidéo a été prise par la chaîne ARTE. Le 10 Septembre 2023, il se produis avec l'un des plus grands guitariste du monde actuel Mr. Luis Salinas sur un Festival à Berlin en Allemagne. Prevente 10 € Entree du soir 12 €

KVT En collaboration avec SPEKTRUM [https://spektrum.lu/] KvT (Kata Kovács et Tom O’Doherty) est un duo basé à Berlin, qui façonne des paysages sonores éphémères à partir de la superposition d'éléments simples. Les deux artistes superposent la résonance, la répétition, le mouvement et la mémoire en combinant des fragments itérés de voix, de trompette et de basse. Cette palette dépouillée permet de se concentrer sur les mondes sonores qui peuvent être superposés et assemblés à partir de voix, de fragments, de boucles, de résonances et de bourdons émergents – le tout réalisé avec des amplificateurs portés à la main. SAMMY VOMÁČKA TRIO Sammy Vomáčka s'est fait un nom bien au-delà des frontières allemandes en tant que spécialiste du fingerpicking dans le ragtime, le folk et le blues. Né en République tchèque, il effectue des tournées en tant que guitariste soliste depuis de nombreuses années. Par la suite il se tourne vers le jazz. L'ancien picker folk joue aujourd'hui du jazz pur et de haut vol au sein d'un trio classique, ce qui constitue le défi ultime pour un guitariste. Vomáčka enchaîne un standard de jazz après l'autre avec une aisance déconcertante. Il manie les arcs mélodiques et les motifs en toute liberté, dessinant sans cesse de nouvelles variations harmoniques et restant authentique à cent pour cent. La musique est vivante, aérienne, non forcée et libre, mais elle a un swing convaincant ; elle est harmoniquement complexe, mais ne semble pas distante un seul instant.
