Description

Jadis isolée de la ville par des étangs et des bois, l’abbaye nous replonge dans des jardins séculaires tout en élégance, fréquentés aujourd’hui par artistes et créateurs. Sous l’impulsion de Léopold II, le Bois de la Cambre devient le rendez chic des Bruxellois. Le roi et la reine y croisaient les calèches des familles nobles ou bourgeoises qui rivalisaient d’élégance. Ce vaste parc à l’anglaise nous réserve bien des surprises : œuvres d’art, constructions de la Belle époque, rocailles, anecdotes et souvenirs des multiples événements qu’il a vus se dérouler en un siècle et demi. Une immense madeleine de Proust en quelque sorte.

Attend a kamishibai storytelling session, browse through the library, or just hang out. Spend a couple of hours, or a whole day, we promise you you will not be bored! Want to go further? Then sign up for the FESTIVAL SPECIALS! On Thursdays, we will dive deeper into the Festival's theme: Belgium's (upcoming) 200th anniversary. Facing that horizon, we first travel back to the 18th century, a time of elaborate wigs and chocolate, of revolutions and inventions. It’s here that the idea of a Belgian state first emerged. Laissez libre court à votre créativité avec des matériaux amusants. Venez vous divertir avec des jouets adaptés à tous les âges, même au plus petits. Assistez à une séance de théâtre kamishibai. Venez fureter dans la bibliothèque. Installez-vous à une des tables de l’ATELIER permanent pour une activité stimulante … Bref, ne ratez pas ce moment inoubliable ! Vous en voulez plus ? Inscrivez-vous au SPECIALS FESTIVAL ! Pendant quatre jeudis, nous développerons déjà le thème du Festival 2030 (pour le 200e anniversaire de la Belgique) en retournant d’abord au 18e siècle, l’époque des perruques et du chocolat, des révolutions et des inventions. C’est, en effet, à cette époque qu’apparaît une première idée de la Belgique. Two of our favorite comics are back at The Black Sheep! Edo Berger Edo hails from Amsterdam. Edo eats everything and loves children. His favourite primary colours are red, yellow and blue.Edo Berger won several Dutch comedy festivals before expanding to performing in English. He also does a weekly musical radio column and made a documentary about the comedian’s love for anecdotes about horrible comedy gigs, called Dictator of Comedy Tim Hill Tim Hill is a recovering cynic. A backpacker who settled down to become a dad. A sweet guy with a sting in his tail. But above all, a smartass who loves referring to himself in the third person (he really does). Tim does not approve of people calling him a hipster – meaning he probably is one – and sees the world as a meaningless yet endlessly fascinating place. En compagnie de Brigitte Fossion et de Christine Willemen, qui connaissent les collections comme leur poche, découvrez des sacs à main chinois délicatement brodés, de luxueux textiles du monde islamique, des mocassins colorés d'Amérique du Nord, d'impressionnantes robes sacerdotales médiévales… Le tout réalisé avec des outils simples : une aiguille, du fil et beaucoup de patience. Dans l’atelier, vous aurez l’occasion d’expérimenter différentes techniques avec une sélection de matériel de qualité. Pas à pas, chacun à son rythme et selon sa créativité…. De l’échantillon au produit fini, vous repartirez certainement chez vous avec une production dont vous pourrez être fier.
