Lara Humbert quartet + Ma

The quartet released its first album, Pinède, in March 2024. They are currently presenting a new repertoire, ‘Le Village’, featuring singer and writer Ma Clément.
Their music is born of an infinite search for balance between written material and free improvisation. The meeting of piano, violin, electric guitar, drums and voice creates a joyful interplay in search of textures and sounds, both in the free interpretation of themes and in improvisation. Blending different musical influences, whether jazz, pop or classical music, the narrative is guided by long melodies laid down in layers, at times oscillating between tonal and atonal music. The fine, fascinating complexity of the pieces finds its way through, as fluid as it is hypnotic. A warm, contemplative energy emerges, enveloping you and inviting you to travel.

La pianiste-compositrice Lara Humbert, après un premier album “Pinède” sorti en mars 2024, présente un nouveau répertoire, “Le Village” , incluant la chanteuse et écrivaine Ma Clément. Leur musique naît d’une infinie recherche d’équilibre entre matériel écrit et improvisation libre. La rencontre entre le piano, le violon, la guitare électrique, la batterie et la voix, crée un jeu joyeux en quête de textures et de sons, dans l’interprétation libre des thèmes comme dans l’improvisation. Mélangeant différentes influences musicales, que ce soit jazz, pop ou musique classique, le récit est guidé par de longues mélodies déposées en strates, qui oscillent par moment entre musique tonale et atonale. Het kwartet bracht zijn eerste album Pinède uit in maart 2024. Momenteel presenteren ze een nieuw repertoire, 'Le Village', met zangeres en schrijfster Ma Clément.
Hun muziek komt voort uit een oneindige zoektocht naar evenwicht tussen geschreven materiaal en vrije improvisatie. De ontmoeting tussen piano, viool, elektrische gitaar, drums en stem creëert een vreugdevol samenspel op zoek naar texturen en geluiden, zowel in de vrije interpretatie van thema's als in improvisatie. Door het mengen van verschillende muzikale invloeden, of het nu jazz, pop of klassieke muziek is, wordt het verhaal geleid door lange melodieën die in lagen zijn neergelegd, soms schommelend tussen tonale en atonale muziek.
