Nocturne with artist Marie-Anne Truffino

Description

The Green Door Gallery is delighted to present the latest works of Belgian artist Marie-Anne Truffino.

Marie-Anne Truffino is an established artist who lives and works in Brussels. In 1992, she created Atelier Truffino, where she teaches traditional oil painting techniques. With a practice firmly rooted in classical painting of the 16th and 17th centuries, themes of transparency, depth, light, and shadow find a new and surprising iteration in her latest body of work 'ESTAMPES TRANSITOIRES' .

Created with liquid pigments on zinc plates, the colours manipulated through the artist’s movements. The plates then pass through a mechanical printing press and the image is transferred onto paper in a series of pressings. The results are spontaneous unbounded shapes. The colours emerge into bold abstract forms - each one as unique as a fingerprint.

These large scale works on paper will appeal to those with a discerning eye for abstract minimalism.
