HECLA LIVE! Second Edition

Description

Hecla is the musical project of the Belgian singer-songwriter Kristof Van den Bergh. The songs of Hecla mostly originate from lyrics, which leaves plenty of space for interpretation, symbolism and metaphors. His often sober guitar playing ranges from haunting to mesmerizing depending on what serves the lyrics best. His songs cover topics ranging from existential questions to love, friendship, hope and despair, restlessness, fascination and his own relationship towards songwriting and performing itself.
Among Hecla’s major influences are songsmiths like Leonard Cohen, Jason Molina, Neil Young and Chelsea Wolfe but also poets like Federico Garcia Lorca, Czeslaw Milosz and Zbigniew Herbert. In the abandoned farm of his grandparents, Hecla has recorded a live session of 3 songs of which each video has been recorded in a different space that matches the mood of the song.
