La recherche du silence total / Ilke De Vries

Description

La Recherche du silence total shows the captivating portrait of the artist Shérazade Gharbi. Gharbi suffers from a mental disability and through drawing she expresses the people she loves, her wishes, dreams and desires. But behind Garbi's eccentric, cheerful appearance and her light-hearted drawings, lies a world of questions, fears and anger. Video artist Ilke De Vries has brought these two worlds together in the film La recherche du silence total. The film is the result of an intensive collaboration between both artists in which Shérazade plays herself in life-size, self-painted sets. As a beautiful location, Atelier Arthur Rogiers invited you to exhibit the grand, painted backgrounds in addition to the film.
