Tribute to Max Richter by Mystery Ensemble

✨ U bent welkom 19 april om 20u00 in de fantastisch sfeervolle Zuiderkerk in hartje Amsterdam voor een avond vol Antonio Vivaldi's beroemde cyclus "De vier jaargetijden", in een unieke interpretatie door hedendaagse componist Max Richter, uitgevoerd door het buitengewone Mystery Ensemble. 

Max Richter is de componist van muziek voor tientallen speelfilms en documentaires. De European Film Academy verkoos hem in 2008 tot beste filmcomponist.

Hij heeft de muziek van Antonio Vivaldi opnieuw vormgegeven in de geest van minimalisme en postmodernisme. Vivaldi, “De vier jaargetijden”, hercomponeerd door Max Richter, is een van Richters beroemdste werken. Na de uitgave in 2012 stond de opname bovenaan de iTunes Classical Music-hitlijsten in meer dan 20 landen.

Max Richter heeft 12 soloalbums opgenomen en opgetreden in het London Barbican, het Paris Philharmonic, de Sydney Opera en het Amsterdamse Concertgebouw, en tot zijn projecten behoren de Sum Opera en het Infra-ballet (gechoreografeerd door Wayne McGregor) in Covent Garden. De muziek van Richter is te horen in vele uitvoeringen over de hele wereld, evenals in de films «Shutter Island» van Martin Scorsese, «Last Love on Earth» van David Mackenzie, «Waltz with Bashir», voor de soundtrack waarvan hij de prijs «Beste Componist» ontving van de European Film Academy.

De Vier Jaargetijden van Antonio Vivaldi is een van de beroemdste en meest uitgevoerde werken van klassieke muziek. De Italiaanse meester legde op geestige en sierlijke wijze vast in muziek hoe zijn tijdgenoten de wereld en de natuur zagen. De Vivaldi-cyclus is zowel een filosofische weerspiegeling van een prachtig geïllustreerde «kalender» als een «rondleiding» door de regio's van Italië.

Mystery Ensemble 

Mystery Ensemble is een groep professionele musici die unieke programma's uitvoeren op niet-standaard locaties over de hele wereld. 

Ervaar meesterwerken uit verschillende tijdperken, experimentele muziek, tributes en wereldmuziek van films en series, evenals unieke programma's en meeslepende shows. Alle muziek wordt gepresenteerd in arrangementen van de auteur. Met de vrijblijvende mogelijkheid tot keuze van programma, onverwachte locaties en flexibiliteit van het format, staat ons team van professionele artiesten steeds paraat om hun favoriete muziek bij jou tot leven te brengen. 

Onze creative studio voor hedendaagse muziek werd opgericht in 2021 en is snel gegroeid, met meer dan 40 shows in het VK gedurende het eerste jaar. Oprichter Alexander Almin heeft intussen meer dan 12 jaar van zijn leven gewijd aan de muziekindustrie en de ontwikkeling van culturele initiatieven over de hele wereld. 

Het repertoire van het ensemble is uiterst divers. Voorbeelden van onze meest geliefde programma’s zijn o.a. tributeconcerten van wereldsterren als Ludovico Einaudi, Hans Zimmer, John Williams, Ólafur Arnalds en Joe Hisaishi, of de minimalisten John Cage en David Lang. Tegelijkertijd voert het ensemble populaire soundtracks uit van sensationele tv-shows en films: Wednesday, The Young Pope, Harry Potter, een verscheidenheid aan Disney- en Pixar-films, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Lord of the Rings en The Hobbit-saga, Spencer, Star Wars e.a. Er is ook de unieke muziek van Enigma, Enya, gecombineerd met neoklassieke muziek, of wereldrockhits, en tributes aan de legendarische Michael Jackson, Queen en de Beatles. Voor liefhebbers Klassiek bevat de ensemblecollectie ook muziek van W.A. Mozart, J.S. Bach, L.V. Beethoven, R. Wagner, I. Strauss, P.I. Tchaikovsky, S.V. Rachmaninov en alle toonaangevende klassieke componisten. En daarnaast nog zoveel meer. Elke maand brengt de studio nieuwe programma's uit en actualiseert ze haar bestaand repertoire. 

Voor sommige producties komt het team samen als onderdeel van een kamer- of klein symfonieorkest.

✨ Join us at the fantastically atmospheric Zuiderkerk in the heart of Amsterdam on April 19th at 8.00 pm for an evening showcasing Antonio Vivaldi’s famous cycle, "The Four Seasons," in a unique interpretation by contemporary composer Max Richter, performed by the extraordinary Mystery Ensemble.

Max Richter is the composer of music for dozens of feature films and documentaries. The European Film Academy voted him the best film composer in 2008.

He changed the music of Antonio Vivaldi in the spirit of minimalism and postmodernism. Recomposed by Max Richter: Vivaldi, The Four Seasons is one of Richter’s most famous works. After its release in 2012, the recording topped the iTunes Classical Music charts in over 20 countries.

Max Richter has recorded 12 solo albums and performed at the London Barbican, the Paris Philharmonic, the Sydney Opera and the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, and among his projects are the Sum Opera and the Infra ballet (choreographed by Wayne McGregor) at Covent Garden. All music presented in author’s arrangements. With the possibility of independent choice of the program, unexpected locations, and flexibility of the format, our team of professional musicians is inspired to bring their favorite music to life. 

Founded in 2021, our studio of contemporary music has grown rapidly, with over 40 shows in the UK in its first year of performing. Our founder, Almin Alexander, has devoted more than 12 years of his life to the music industry and the development of cultural initiatives around the world, working with many outstanding musicians and musical groups. 

The ensemble’s repertoire contains an incredible amount of music. Just look at some of the programs so dearly loved by our viewers: these are tribute concerts of such great composers as Ludovico Einaudi, Hans Zimmer, John Williams, Ólafur Arnalds, Joe Hisaishi, or the minimalists’ John Cage and David Lang, along with At the same time, the ensemble performs popular soundtracks from sensational TV shows and movies: Wednesday, The Young Pope, Harry Potter, a variety of Disney and Pixar films, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit saga, Spencer, Star Wars and others.
