On April 29th, at Filmhuis Cavia, Amsterdam, Indy Film Library is celebrating the best films from the Netherlands submitted over the last year. Films include Jaimey Groot's documentary I Do Matter, Ruben Swart's found-footage thriller Moerasdraak, and Marie Lormeau's drama Le Trajet.

This year Indy Film Library will once again be hosting our annual awards showcase as a hybrid event - meaning a digital event will also take place showing our international programme in April. More information on our digital screenings can be found here.

Bezield door één passie, muziek maken, heeft The Rosenberg Trio de wereld veroverd. Ze speelden op vele grote jazzfestivals en in s’ werelds belangrijkste concertzalen: o.a. Festival International de Jazz de Montreal, North Sea Jazz, Django Reinhardt Festival in Samois, Jazz In Marciac, Jazz à Vienne, Carnegie Hall New York, The Rose Bowl Los Angeles en het Concertgebouw Amsterdam. Ook speelden ze samen met grote musici, zoals Toots Thielemans, Jan Akkerman, Stéphane Grappelli, Herman van Veen, Jaap van Zweden, Louis van Dijk, Peter Beets, enz. Het trio stond in het voorprogramma van Shirley Bassey, Randy Crawford, en Luciano Pavarotti. De afgelopen 35 jaar heeft The Rosenberg Trio over de hele wereld gespeeld en hebben naam gemaakt als de crème de la crème binnen het gypsy-jazz genre, bewonderd door fans wereldwijd en door gitaristen uit verschillende muzikale genres. Al die jaren vertegenwoordigt The Rosenberg Trio nog steeds de “essentie van gypsy jazz”, waarbij ze tevens door hun samenspel met muzikanten uit andere genres hebben laten zien zich muzikaal gezien breed ontwikkeld te hebben.

Gitarist en zanger Steve Gunn maakt al geruime tijd indruk met zijn muzikantschap. De altijd nuchtere virtuoos uit New York speelde bij Kurt Vile & The Violators en heeft een groot aantal solo-, duo- en ensemble-albums op zijn naam staan. Zijn sprankelende gitaarspel en kenmerkende stem vormen de basis van zijn uitgesponnen folkrock met Americana-invloeden. Voor de aandachtige luisteraar valt er ook invloed van blues, vrije jazz en psychedelische aspecten in zijn muziek te herkennen. Gepresenteerd in samenwerking met EKKO.

BADASONIC is het platenlabel voor ska en rocksteady van drummer Nico Leonard (Moon Invaders/RWW/Utopians) met fijne releases van onder andere The Aggrolites en The Slackers. The Bandulus werd opgericht door Jeremy Pena als opvolger van Los Skarnales en Trenchtown Texans, en speelt belachelijk swingende Ska, Reggae en Soul. The Bandulus steelt je hart en geeft je daarvoor een smile terug die je de hele week niet van je gezicht gaat krijgen. Een van de topbands in het ska/rocksteady genre. The Utopians uit Belgie is een nieuwe band met bekende gezichten. Big early reggae, ska en rocksteady.

Weekend Warriors, it's time to plan Defqon.1 2024 again! Those who have traveled and raved with Ravecation before know that we stand for unity among ravers from all over the world. We go to festivals as strangers, but leave as family. Experiencing these events together just makes them all the more fun. We have several buses and friendscamp spots available for this edition. **DEPARTURE/ARRIVAL - AMSTERDAM** The buses will depart from bus parking 'Piarcoplein' in Amsterdam Sloterdijk station, this is also where we will return after the event. [Estimated time of departure is 10:00AM] **ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE - DEFQON.1** The buses will drop you off at the entrance of the Defqon.1 campsite. Upon arrival we will set a meeting point so that everybody knows where we get picked up for the way back. [Estimated time of departure for early return bus is 08:00AM] [Estimated time of departure for the normal buses is 12:00PM] **CAMPING EQUIPMENT** To complete the weekend experience we offer camping equipment packages to our bus guests. All ordered products will be available for pick-up at the bus before departure. Simply order your camping stuff, and we'll take care of the rest. **FRIENDS CAMP** Traveling solo? Or do you want to rave with an international crew? Our Ravecation friendscamp is located near the festival entrance and is a fenced area with features like partytents, picknicktables, games and an international atmosphere. If you purchase the friendscamp ticket you will be guaranteed of a good campspot. A special wristband from Q-dance is included. After your purchase you will be contacted by the Ravecation team and added to our WhatsApp chats.
