Meet the comedians:

December 12th

Headliner Lara Ricotta (MX) is a Mexican-American comedian based in Amsterdam. She’s recently won the Best Newcomer Award at this years Edinburgh Fringe Festival for her show grl/latnx/def. You can see her work on Comedy Central, Dave, and E4.

Karan Karthik (IN) is an Indian who's psychologist, polyamorous and a life coach. If that doesn't scream out wannabe sex guru we don't know what else does. He still possesses the stereotypical qualities of your regular indian guy: he’s an engineer, likes spicy food, wears flip flops and also worked in a call center before. So you may ask why he‘s here today? To get more followers for his cult! Because when you work with people for more than 10 years, there is so much content you'd be stupid not to fiddle around a hobby as a stand up comedian with it! Therefore he's not really a funny guy, he just finds things funny and is hoping to be laughed at more than laughed with.

A Mexican American from a small town in California, Lupe Estrada (US) is a comic with roots in the San Francisco and Los Angeles comedy scenes and festivals throughout the US. He now resides in Amsterdam and performers regularly in the Netherlands where he’s known for stringing together silly one liners that tell a cynical story, usually with a drink in hand.

Nicole Mischler (US) is a professional improviser, stand-up and mad scientist. She performs on a regular basis with easylaughs in Amsterdam and wowed the international crowds with her Zoom charms during the COVID lockdown.

Ronan Brosnan (IR) is a wild Irishman with a caustic wit who specialises in ludicrous deep dives into the driving forces of society, such as spiders, pineapples and communism. Like Che Geuvara, he is sadly unable to grow a proper beard, and at the time of publishing has yet to surpass the stage of Hairy Face.

Ietje en Fietje zijn twee oude vrouwtjes die samenwonen, waarschijnlijk al hun hele leven. Ze hebben niet veel nodig, want ze hebben elkaar en hun fantasie. Hierdoor belande ze constant in de meest grappige en onsamenhangende situaties waarvan ze zelf niet weten of het voortkomt uit dementie of uit plezier, maar waardoor ze zich nooit vervelen en eeuwig jong blijven. Totdat de buitenwereld plots binnenvalt in de vorm van een brief: “Ietje, Fietje trek jullie baljurk aan, dan kunnen jullie samen naar het bal toegaan.” Dit veroorzaakt onrust en heisa in het huis van de vrouwtjes. Het Kleine Theater bestaat uit Vimala en Anke, allebei actrice. Na jaren te hebben gewerkt bij diverse theatergezelschappen, en in verschillende televisieproducties en films te hebben gespeeld, zijn ze in 2011 een eigen jeugdtheatergezelschap begonnen. Samen maken ze nu al ruim 10 jaar theater voor jong en oud. Er staan 15 voorstellingen op het repertoire, allemaal met veel humor, mooie muziek en gekke personages. De voorstellingen zijn gebaseerd op oude verhalen, liedjes of bekende sprookjes, waar een heel eigen draai aan is gegeven, zodat het niet eng is voor de kleinste bezoeker, maar ook zeker niet saai voor de oudste. ’t ZONNEHUIS OP ZIJN KOP is een jeugdtheaterreeks van Stichting Stadsherstel Cultureel om jeugdtheatermakers een podium te geven en ‘t Zonnehuis toegankelijker te maken voor de buurt. Kom op de derde zondag van de maand (van oktober t/m december 2023 en maart t/m mei 2024) naar ’t Zonnehuis in Amsterdam-Noord voor de leukste familievoorstellingen! Fantasierijk, vrolijk en muzikaal theater voor peuters en kleuters en natuurlijk hun (groot)ouders en begeleiders. We verwelkomen elke keer een ander gezelschap!

Beginning in spring 2024 with a series of concerts and workshops in Europe and Israel, the tour will continue through the US, Canada, and Latin America in the fall. Snatam is celebrated for her incandescent luminous voice and profound knowledge of mantra. Accompanied by gifted, versatile musicians, her concerts are joyous, transformational experiences providing participants an experience of the healing energy of the heart that can be activated by chanting. Audiences are invited to join Snatam in these deeply personal and jubilant sacred song journeys that arc from quiet introspection, to tapping into self-acceptance, self-love, self-awareness, and forgiveness, then arriving at a healing space of giving oneself over to mantra, before moving into the light of pure celebration, and finally a shared space of prayer and blessings.
