DE BANDS: Drawing inspiration from the tones and rhythms of Flamenco Puro, this Ghentish three piece weaves intricate time-signatures with dizzying chord shapes to produce a unique and avant-garde sound best described as Sun-Kissed Black Metal. https://giftsofblankets.bandcamp.com/album/a-la-mina-no-voy-m-s Combining a filthy sound with a sinister atmosphere, this trio from Ghent will charm fans of black, death and doom metal alike. Prepare for a trip back to the late eighties and early nineties of black metal! Featuring members of last year's headliner Kosmokrator. https://serpentmass.bandcamp.com/ In April 2019, ABRAHAMIC LIARS started as a trio : Niels (San Diablo, Black Swarm), Jolle (Suhrim, Marginal) and Jos (Objector, Furia), having the idea of releasing a black metal record as a project. They started writing instrumental tracks so they’d have songs ready once we had a vocalist. For live purposes they became a sextet joined by Beuk (Carnal Desecration, Works of the flesh), Cin (Seethr, Stercore) and Tim (Izah, Works of the flesh). https://abrahamicliars.bandcamp.com/ Bones arose from the wastelands of Belgium in 2011, united by a common passion for real-sounding death metal: performed with authenticity and devotion, infused with the sorceries of the ancients. https://exposedbones.bandcamp.com/ DE ORGANISATOREN: GRuut werd opgericht in 2009 door Annick, een gepassioneerde vrouw afkomstig uit een heuse brouwersdynastie.
My fingers are a pencil, the piano my paper aeroplane.” www.mdj-pianist.com Pieter Savenberg “Beauty in simplicity.” www.pietersavenberg.com Mattias Devriendt “offering people emotional depth through peaceful music” www.mattiasdevriendt.com Als pianoliefhebber mag je dit evenement niet missen.

In the summer months, orchestras, fanfare groups and brass bands treat you to music at the weekly Sunday flower market. The Town Crier of Ghent announces the concerts half an hour before they begin and introduces the music group that will be adding atmosphere to your morning at the flower market. By tradition, the Ghent-based independent label el Negocito organizes a summer festival in Citadel Park. You will be able to enjoy bands and ensembles situated outside of mainstream jazz. Citadel Park is the epicentre of inspirational moments and lively gatherings, where you can enjoy contemporary jazz and improvisational music in a lovely setting.
The festival "Sorry, not sorry" always takes place in a different neighbourhood outside the city centre. This time around it takes place in the Ghent neighbourhood Moscou-Vogelhoek-Flora. At the heart of the festival, you can find the industrial site of the former weaving and spinning mill De Porre. Street art in the broadest sense of the word is at the centre of the festival. As always, the focus is on creative ‘underground’ and ‘out of the box’ art. The festival puts young artists and organisations in the spotlight and breaks down the walls between mainstream artists and street artists. The programme offers a rich variety of visual arts, workshops, info sessions and educational initiatives.
