ZAMBOMBA! Fiesta Flamenca

"Zambomba” is a musical percussion instrument in Latin America and Spain, that people use to accompany Christmas gatherings with family, friends, and neighbors. It also means actually “the Christmas fiesta” itself. In these fiestas, people sing the “villancicos” (viyancicos) , Christmas songs, mostly in choirs.

This is a flamenco fiesta, that Yota Baron Productions, organizes for the last 12 years, every Christmas, inviting local flamenco artists and guest artists from Spain, to contribute and support Christodoulio Orphanage in Athens Greece.

Op een dag staat er midden in het oerwoud zomaar een potje. En naast het potje ligt een briefje. ‘Op dit potje passen alleen de allerliefste billetjes,’ staat erop geschreven. Alle dieren proberen het potje uit, maar de billen van de olifant zijn te groot, de slang heeft helemaal geen billen en de aap weet niet eens wat hij met een potje moet doen. Terwijl de dieren kibbelen, komt er opeens een jongetje tevoorschijn en dan beseffen ze voor wie het potje is bedoeld. Jeritza Toney vertelt verhalen, zingt en speelt muziek, in nauw samenspel met het publiek. Zij zal op een muzikale wijze deze bestseller vertalen naar een vrolijke en speelse muziektheatervoorstelling voor de allerkleinsten. Klein Amsterdam Producties ontwikkelt en produceert jeugdtheater. Ze bedenken concepten en koppelen daar de juiste artiesten en creatievelingen aan. Met artistieke teams maken ze vervolgens mooie, vrolijke en toegankelijke producties. Zo’n productie kan zowel klein- als grootschalig zijn en geschikt voor peuters, kleuters en jongste jeugd. ’t ZONNEHUIS OP ZIJN KOP is een jeugdtheaterreeks van Stichting Stadsherstel Cultureel om jeugdtheatermakers een podium te geven en ‘t Zonnehuis toegankelijker te maken voor de buurt. Quindi manteniamo la calma e confrontiamoci con i temi che tediano le nostre pause pranzo: crisi climatica, iper-esposizione mediatica, ex compagni delle elementari riesumati come venditori di NFT, valutare se intraprendere la professione di neurologo o quella di streamer, la nostalgia di epoche vissute l’altro ieri, la suscettibilità estrema e il lavoro non retribuito dell’offeso telematico, la casa in campagna come unica possibilità residenziale, la motivazione dei guru disperati, la necessità di sentirsi un eroe e poi la speranza che, nonostante tutto, l’intelligenza artificiale possa risolvere tutti i nostri problemi, compreso quello della sua esistenza. Ietje en Fietje zijn twee oude vrouwtjes die samenwonen, waarschijnlijk al hun hele leven. Ze hebben niet veel nodig, want ze hebben elkaar en hun fantasie. Hierdoor belande ze constant in de meest grappige en onsamenhangende situaties waarvan ze zelf niet weten of het voortkomt uit dementie of uit plezier, maar waardoor ze zich nooit vervelen en eeuwig jong blijven. Totdat de buitenwereld plots binnenvalt in de vorm van een brief: “Ietje, Fietje trek jullie baljurk aan, dan kunnen jullie samen naar het bal toegaan.” Dit veroorzaakt onrust en heisa in het huis van de vrouwtjes. Het Kleine Theater bestaat uit Vimala en Anke, allebei actrice. Na jaren te hebben gewerkt bij diverse theatergezelschappen, en in verschillende televisieproducties en films te hebben gespeeld, zijn ze in 2011 een eigen jeugdtheatergezelschap begonnen. Samen maken ze nu al ruim 10 jaar theater voor jong en oud. Er staan 15 voorstellingen op het repertoire, allemaal met veel humor, mooie muziek en gekke personages. Een muzikale vertelling over het plezier van schurken in de modder. Over de drang om de beste te willen zijn. En over de ontdekking dat je best blij mag zijn met wie je bent. Een kleine voorstelling met een grote zeggingskracht. Hangbuikzwijn Herman houdt niet van wedstrijdjes. De kippen om hem heen wel. Elke ochtend gaat het erom wie de beste, snelste en eerste is. Op een dag is Herman er helemaal klaar mee: hij zal wel eens laten zien wie de snelste is. Alle dieren op de boerderij moedigen hem aan. Hup Herman! Maar maakt het eigenlijk wel uit of je wint of verliest? Opera kan groots en overweldigend zijn, maar ook heel klein en innemend. Een levensgroot prentenboek, twee spelers en een stuk of wat instrumenten – dat zijn de ingrediënten voor deze voorlees-opera voor de allerkleinsten. Voor én met kinderen Na een succesvolle reeks tijdens de Kindermuziekweek 2022 brengt De Nationale Opera de voorstelling het land in. Acteur Harpert Michielsen en muzikant Joost Brouwer vertolken het gelijknamige, bekroonde kinderboek van Yvonne Jagtenberg op geheel eigen wijze, voor én met de kinderen in het publiek.

Bezield door één passie, muziek maken, heeft The Rosenberg Trio de wereld veroverd. Ze speelden op vele grote jazzfestivals en in s’ werelds belangrijkste concertzalen: o.a. Festival International de Jazz de Montreal, North Sea Jazz, Django Reinhardt Festival in Samois, Jazz In Marciac, Jazz à Vienne, Carnegie Hall New York, The Rose Bowl Los Angeles en het Concertgebouw Amsterdam. Ook speelden ze samen met grote musici, zoals Toots Thielemans, Jan Akkerman, Stéphane Grappelli, Herman van Veen, Jaap van Zweden, Louis van Dijk, Peter Beets, enz. Het trio stond in het voorprogramma van Shirley Bassey, Randy Crawford, en Luciano Pavarotti. De afgelopen 35 jaar heeft The Rosenberg Trio over de hele wereld gespeeld en hebben naam gemaakt als de crème de la crème binnen het gypsy-jazz genre, bewonderd door fans wereldwijd en door gitaristen uit verschillende muzikale genres. Al die jaren vertegenwoordigt The Rosenberg Trio nog steeds de “essentie van gypsy jazz”, waarbij ze tevens door hun samenspel met muzikanten uit andere genres hebben laten zien zich muzikaal gezien breed ontwikkeld te hebben.

Snatam Kaur 2024 Heartflow Sacred Chant Tour Beloved devotional singer and Grammy-nominated recording artist, Snatam Kaur has announced her upcoming Heartflow Sacred Chant Tour. Beginning in spring 2024 with a series of concerts and workshops in Europe and Israel, the tour will continue through the US, Canada, and Latin America in the fall. Snatam is celebrated for her incandescent luminous voice and profound knowledge of mantra. Accompanied by gifted, versatile musicians, her concerts are joyous, transformational experiences providing participants an experience of the healing energy of the heart that can be activated by chanting. Audiences are invited to join Snatam in these deeply personal and jubilant sacred song journeys that arc from quiet introspection, to tapping into self-acceptance, self-love, self-awareness, and forgiveness, then arriving at a healing space of giving oneself over to mantra, before moving into the light of pure celebration, and finally a shared space of prayer and blessings. Snatam’s band includes her producer, Ram Dass (piano, clarinet, and vocals), Grecco Buratto (guitar and vocals), and Sukhmani Rayat (percussion and vocals).
