Iemand: "Doe nu eens rustig, man! Laat het allemaal los."
Bert: "Oké... maar hoe dan?"
In zijn tweede muzikale solovoorstelling 'Stroom' gaat Bert Van Puymbroeck op
zoek naar 'inner peace'. Hij neemt het publiek mee in zijn zoektocht en dompelt
hen onder in zijn ontdekkingen over de mind-body connectie. Gefascineerd en
gebiologeerd door de menselijke psychologie ontrafelt hij de schoonheid van
jezelf ontdekken op een 'alternatieve' manier.
Een verbindend gesprek tussen een zoekend publiek en een zoekende mens.
Wat vooraf ging
Voor deze nieuwe theatervoorstelling is Bert in gesprek gegaan met therapeuten
en coaches uit de alternatieve gezondheidszorg en coachingswereld. Hij was
benieuwd naar een andere blik op de wereld. Hij ontdekte tijdens zijn
vooronderzoek een aantal op het eerste zicht rare en bizarre methodes en
therapieën. Hij probeerde tijdens de gesprekken het hoe en waarom van sommige
methodes te ontrafelen en vroeg de geïnterviewden: Wat is 'inner peace'? Hoe kan
ik het zelf ervaren?

Bio
Bert Van Puymbroeck (1992), hij/hem, is al zijn hele leven gebiologeerd door de
menselijke psychologie. Als theatermaker, singer-songwriter en therapeut
onderzoekt hij telkens in zijn werk diepe menselijke behoeftes zoals verbinding,
intimiteit, seksualiteit en veiligheid.
In 2019 is Bert voor het eerst te zien met zijn eigen werk op het Antwerp Queer
Arts Festival, gevolgd door zijn eerste single ‘Mijtijd’. In 2022 ging zijn
eerste solovoorstelling ‘Op zoek naar een man’

steeds in Vlaanderen en Nederland. Bert werd in 2022 geselecteerd voor de
voorrondes van Cameretten en stond in 2023 op het eerste Utrecht Queer Culture
Festival.

Description
4-day Intensive Course
This intensive course is open to (pre)-professional dancers ages 15+. The program will consist of daily classes in ballet, improvisation and will feature repertoire by world-renowned choreographers linked to the prestigious Nederlands Dans Theater.
In order to preserve an intimate working environment, limited spots are available!
What's Included?
4 days (6 hours a day) consisting of:
- daily ballet class
- repertoire by world-renowned choreographers
- daily improvisation/composition tools class
- an intimate working environment with limited amount of participants
- physio/massage therapy
- Q&A on the last day

Teachers
Jesse Callaert (Ghent, Belgium) studied at the Royal Ballet School Antwerp for 6 years, which provided him with professional ballet training and a base for modern and contemporary dance. After graduating in 2017 and having danced as a guest dancer with Ballett Zürich, he joined the prestigious Nederlands Dans Theater 2 where he danced for 4 years. In July 2021 he then joined Staatsballett Hannover under the artistic direction of world-renowned choreographer Marco Goecke. He has performed works by many choreographers including Jiří Kylián, Sol León & Paul Lightfoot, Marco Goecke, Sharon Eyal, Ohad Naharin, Alexander Ekman, Johan Inger, Edward Clug, Medhi Walerski, Bryan Arias, Juliano Nunes, Dimo Milev, Nadav Zelner, Shahar Binyamini and Felix Landerer.
Jesse has also choreographed pieces for the annual edition of 'Switch by NDT Dancers' as well as for the Royal Ballet School Antwerp, creates a broad variety of music compositions, and participates in film, fashion or tv projects alongside hosting his own podcast 'Fase II Fase’.
He is currently working as an international freelance artist and stager for Alexander Ekman.
Mikaela Kelly (New York City, USA) is a 2017 Princess Grace Award Winner in dance. She studied at American Ballet Theatre's pre-professional school where she acquired a strong classical ballet technique and completed her certification in ABT's National Training Curriculum for Teachers. In 2018, she graduated from The Juilliard School's four-year Bachelor of Fine Arts program and joined Nederlands Dans Theater 2. Mikaela has performed works by many choreographers including Jiří Kylián, Sol León & Paul Lightfoot, Nacho Duato, Ohad Naharin, Marco Goecke, Sharon Eyal, Alexander Ekman, Johan Inger, Marcos Morau, Edward Clug, Medhi Walerski, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Yoann Bourgeois, Aszure Barton, Felix Landerer, Bryan Arias, Dimo Milev, Alexi Ratmansky, George Balanchine, Merce Cunningham, Paul Taylor, and José Limón.
Mikaela has also designed costumes for critically acclaimed choreographer Juliano Nunes and for Norwegian National Ballet, Philadelphia Ballet, Origins Dance Festival, V-Create, Orsolina 28, and Switch by NDT Dancers.
