Women Rooting For Old-Time + Jam session
This evening showcases the great influence of women on American roots music.
From the soulful melodies of the blues to the spirited rhythms of bluegrass,
from the enchanting folk ballads to the infectious energy of country, women have
left an indelible mark on all facets of traditional American music. Discover the
timeless musical heritage of the United States through the eyes and voices of
the women who have shaped American roots music in all its diversity.

Old time ball: Hills of Belgium & friends | Square Dance + Jam session
Hills of Belgium, aka Lorcan Fahy (violin, vocals) and Jeremy Fraboni (banjo,
vocals), are the Belgian ambassadors of Belgian mountain music. Together with a
host of old-time musicians, they will play a captivating old-time ball, assisted
by caller Annick Odom. We open the evening with a dance initiation square dance
by Belgo-American Annick Odom from West Virginia. Finally, we end the evening
with a smashing jam session.

traditionnelle américaine. Des mélodies émouvantes du blues aux rythmes
endiablées du bluegrass, des ballades folk enchanteresses à l’énergie
contagieuse de la country, les femmes ont laissé une marque indélébile sur
toutes les facettes de la musique traditionnelle américaine. Découvrez
l’héritage musical intemporel des États-Unis à travers les yeux et les voix des
femmes qui ont façonné cette musique dans toute sa diversité.

Old time bal: Hills of Belgium & friends | Square Dance + Jam session
Hills of Belgium est mené par Lorcan Fahy (violon, chant) et Jérémie Fraboni
(banjo, chant) qui sont les véritables ambassadeurs belges de la musique
old-time. Avec une sélection de musicien·nes d’antan, ils lanceront un fascinant
bal d’antan, assistés par la meneuse belgo-américaine, Annick Odom qui ouvrira
la soirée avec une initiation à la « square dance ». Une jam session viendra
clôturer le moment en beauté !

Deze avond toont de grote invloed van vrouwen op de Amerikaanse rootsmuziek. Van
de soulvolle melodieën van de blues tot de pittige ritmes van bluegrass, van de
betoverende folkballades tot de aanstekelijke energie van country: vrouwen
hebben een onuitwisbare stempel gedrukt op alle facetten van de traditionele
Amerikaanse muziek. Ontdek het tijdloze muzikale erfgoed van de Verenigde Staten
door de ogen en stemmen van de vrouwen die de Amerikaanse rootsmuziek in al zijn
diversiteit hebben vormgegeven.

Old time bal: Hills of Belgium & friends | Square Dance + Jam session
Hills of Belgium, oftewel Lorcan Fahy (viool, zang) en Jeremy Fraboni (banjo,
zang), zijn de Belgische ambassadeurs van de Belgische mountain music. Samen met
een keur van old time muzikanten spelen ze een boeiend old time bal, bijgestaan
door caller Annick Odom. We openen de avond met een dansinitiatie square dance
door de Belgo-Amerikaanse Annick Odom uit West-Virginia. Tenslotte eindigen we
de avond met een spetterende jamsessie.
