His unique comedic style is a mix of absurdity, social commentary and some allegedly inappropriate jokes. Self-proclaimed inventor of mumble comedy. And yes, Watermelon is indeed his real surname, simply translated into English. Being naturally funny, Dima, only started doing standup after he moved to Berlin in 2015 to make sure not to lose his sense of humor while integrating into German society. Since then, Dima has performed in more than 20 countries, including renowned locations such as the Gotham Comedy Club in New York, the Comedy Store London, and famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Living in three different countries and visiting over forty, Dima is no longer simply Ukrainian, but not quite European either. Stuck in this absurd cultural limbo, he finds laughter is his best coping mechanism. Instagram: @dimawatermelon Webtsite: www.dimawatermelon.com

Hun vorig jaar verschenen debuutalbum 'When Things Go Missing' kreeg enthousiaste kritieken. Messidor is Ward Daenen (zang, gitaar), Maarten Moesen (percussie, piano, gitaar, zang), Bert Hornikx (bas, elektronica). Music On A Whim and WineBunker present an evening of Indonesian neo-tribal rhythms, ritual drone and shamanic trance that forges a link between the people and cultures of the past and the music of the future. We invite you to enter the ‘Primal Realm’. Address - Rue Picard 3, 1000, Bruxelles Doors – 7 30 pm Tickets – 10 euros advance; 12 euros on the door (cash only) Kuntari (Indonesia) – Neo Tribal / Metal core / Rock A pivotal figure in the Indonesian experimental scene, KUNTARI has constantly experimented with primitive voices producing animal mating calls with his trumpet mixed with tons variation of Indonesia's tribal rhythms. The music produced percussive primal sound along with dark ambient, a firm unit and solid of two individuals with an intense dynamic of heavy ancient beats. Their live performances create an organic raw sonical untamed with feral approach. A duo of drum-percussion and cornet-guitar inspired by Hadrah Kuntulan and Sar Ping from Lion Dance/Barongsai reflect on religion and power abuse during colonialism that destroyed cultures. KUNTARI has collaborated with many mix-genre musicians such as Rully Shabara (Senyawa), Arthur Hnatek, Morgue Vanguard, Jonas Engel, Dirk Wachtelaer, Luigi Monteanni, Yuji Ishihara and Yasushi Yoshida. “Using a variety of instruments such as cornets, gongs, drums and percussion, Larynx offers a variety of interesting rhythm patterns. Like the album cover which shows a four-eyed wolf screaming, Larynx is an experimental album that is biting, unique, and shows that Tesla has found his own unique sound”, VICE, 2022. https://yesnowave.bandcamp.com/album/larynx https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KxQ_QxYXWxg&ab Osilasi (Belgium) – Ritual / Drone/ Folk Osilasi, meaning ‘oscillation’ in Indonesian, by two multi-instrumentalist musicians: Léa Roger and Célia Jankowski who work with harp, drum elements, drone box, percussion, vocals, microphones and electronic effects. They work in the manner of musicians from modal music, starting from a rhythmic or sung cell, stretching it and gradually adding others which evolve organically, exploring all possible variations in terms of textures, colors, rhythmic shifts or sound dynamics. Phuein, their debut release on OKVLT in 2023, share tastes for the protean audacity of experimental and industrial music and underground dance music, relationships between electro-acoustic music, dub and ritual music. It testifies to a relationship with vocal material by using only a form of spontaneous, invented or atavistic language, like a buried but living language, common to all peoples, which would be transformed by cultural syncretisms, moving from body to body. “The Belgian female duo Osilasi whose strange vocal shamanic trance exercises, punctuated with percussion, analog manipulations and instrumental highlights – including this magnificent handmade electric hurdy-gurdy. – hypnotize the mind.”, NoiseMag, 2018. https://okvlt.bandcamp.com/album/phuein https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QMZ1xulr-Kk&ab_channel=VoixDeFemmes
On 25 December 2021, the James Webb Space Telescope was launched. This infrared telescope is the biggest and most sophisticated space telescope ever, which allows scientists to look deep into the universe and into the past. It is used among others to seek out the ‘cosmic dawn’: the light of the very first stars, which came into being shortly after the birth of our universe. But more than the voyage of discovery the telescope makes, Meirhaeghe is fascinated by the capability of the human mind to rise above itself and the universe. The vast endlessness of the universe engulfs us; science is constantly seeking, but our imagination is absolute. His companion on this trip past the borders of our body and our time is the Italian composer Caterina Barbieri. She creates electronic music with a ‘transformative and mind-enhancing’ potential. To the hypnotic tones of Fantas (part of her masterful 2019 album Ecstatic Computation), the performers, dancers and singers surrender to the inexplicable and inexpressible. Shelly Shonk Fiffit will be an intense and ecstatic visual and musical trip, through both our inner worlds and the far corners of the cosmos. Fiffit! Fiffit!
